I would like to know if PCGS still offers two coin holders?

DFrohmanDFrohman Posts: 104 ✭✭✭

Hello everyone!

I have an 1850 Double eagle graded PCGS-45 and a 1907 high relief graded PCGS-45.

I am interested in created a "First Year Type Set" for the double eagle by housing
the 1850 and 1907 high relief side by side in a PCGS double coin holder.

Is there anyone here who definitively knows whether this can be done?

Thanks!

David

    PCGS likely knows.

Yes this definitely can be done. I currently have several pairs of coins in for the dual holder right now.

I have had better luck asking simple questions via e-mail.

Still recommend confirming directly with PCGS CS. Notwithstanding, here is a recent video (no affiliation) that details how to request the two-coin holder.

    Good Luck. :)

Aha. Sort of like calling the IRS with a tax question then.

good morning! yes, we do. you would need to do a paper form and check the “Special Label or Holder” to signify that you are requesting a special holder. in that box, write that you are requesting a Dual Holder. see the pic below for reference

let me know if you have any other questions:)

Thank you for answering the OP's question. Excellent information. :)

That said, I could not find any info about dual coin holders on the PCGS website.
This includes the webpage that describes the currently available holders.

If a dual coin holder is available, why isn't it 'included/advertised' there, or somewhere else?
IOW, if it is an option, why isn't it being 'disclosed/promoted'?

I think multi-coin TPG holders would be an excellent way to enjoy and show off one’s coins. Note the thread showing Capital plastic holders. May not be enough demand to make it work commercially for graded coins. And then there is the selling downside. The OP’s set will be very cool.
