Whose in for one of these?

    I'm on the fence.

I hope gold keeps coming down.

I’m sitting next to you on the fence. I like the potential final product (as the Mint image doesn’t show the potential beauty of this coin) I’m about 75% leaning towards being there at noon on the day of release.

    Anyone else?

Gotta get them as well, of course.

This is in addition. Expensive year.

This ^^^^ is ultimately going to suppress demand. Lots of cool things coming out this year. Gold and silver are up a lot over the past year or so. Only so much money to go around.

That said, these are unique, and the mintage is very reasonable. They should be fine if you like and want them, but likely have limited upside from the ~$5500 they are going to cost raw.

I wonder how much upside any of these upcoming issues really have at this issue price beyond just buying them because one likes them.

Fair point. But some of the Best of the Mint items should be VERY popular. At the right mintages, they could be home runs. As opposed to the same AGE that is issued every year, albeit in a different finish.

Good news!!!! They just bumped the mintage limit up to 7,500 on these, a week before release.

It's unbelievable how they keep playing games with all this stuff -- raising limits, not minting to the limit, despite demand, with no warning, etc., etc., etc. At least with this, they threw something up on the web before release, rather than doing whatever they want after.

But still. Makes it kind of hard to keep getting jerked around, especially when it is unclear that the generation behind us will even have any interest in this stuff we now so eagerly chase.

    Good. Glad it's okay.

Because leaving the prior year's mintage up on the website as a placeholder, when it could just as easily been deleted when they updated the page to reflect that this year's version was going to be Enhanced Uncirculated, and then jacking it up by 25% a week before release, when many folks might not be paying attention, is really not okay.

Although, as you said, after the past few years, it too is nothing new.

They should actually call it a subscription limit. Or at least put a year on it.

Did they even take subscriptions for these? I just think they are being lazy across the board with the mintage and product limits. They could certainly take old numbers down when they update product pages. They just choose not to.

They are also being aggressive with both pricing and mintages. It's going to come back to bite them at some point.

The only place the mintage/product limits have been "wrong" is on the subscription page. I've not an them adjust the number on the actual product page. Of course, in large measure, that's because they have not posted any until a couple weeks before release. If you look at the summer and fall ones, they all are blank.

Nope. They were wrong on these. The product page was showing a mintage limit of 6,000 until today. It is now 7,500. It's worth noting that sales for uncirculated AGEs were under 3K for the past 2 years, and under 10K going all the way back to 2021. When gold was worth a fraction of what it is today.

Price is 20% off the all time high. Premium is still over $900 per ounce. They are clearly trying to cash in on the 250th hype, and the special finish. Great. And it looked like a winner with 6K. Not so much at 7,500. Still interesting. And the coin IS beautiful. But 7,500 is aggressive for a 1 ounce gold coin priced at ~$5500. I guess we'll see.

Either way, there is no reason they couldn't publish the actual mintage before today. Monday is a holiday and they go on sale next Thursday. 3 business days from today.

I’ve seen presales so far, but has anyone seen an actual image of this one? Maybe one of the big boy’s sites? I’m leaning towards this one.
In 1986 my Dad gave my brother the gold Oz first year issue as a Christmas gift, so it seems fitting that I could add this as a 40 year anniversary of that event.

Mine was safely tucked away all these years, and my brother (who would have been 19 at the time) cannot find his or even recall what he might have done with it. I like to occasionally remind him of its value today. 🤣

I'm so conflicted about this one. I'm sure it will look awesome. But, I'm still reeling a bit over the Buffalo thinking I just paid a ton of money for a pretty piece of bullion. I can't help but think this will be the same thing.

Yes. HSN had the actual coin on TV last night. It looks awesome, but they just raised the mintage to 7500, and it's going to cost around $5500. You can see a video on the HSN website.

It will be. A better deal, due to the lower mintage and special finish. But still. At the end of the day, that's really all any of this is.

Yes. We paid a decent sum for a piece of future bullion. What may be in your favor as far as that goes is the potential and most likely inevitable gold price increase over time (for various reasons). It’s close to a sellout, so you’re one of maybe 15,000 with it. Enjoy it! It’s a beautiful coin and I examine it a lot! Lol

Or I could wait for the HHL to lift if they don’t sell out first and buy two from the Mint for less than the HSN price. What to do? lol

Joking aside, I am impressed enough with what I saw to get one if I can. If I’m on the site at noon Thursday I think I’ll be able to claim one.

Agreed. With 7,500, while I do think it will sell out, I don't think it will be instantaneous.

Yes. HSN had the actual coin on TV last night. It looks awesome, but they just raised the mintage to 7500, and it's going to cost around $5500. You can see a video on the HSN website.

Looks impressive! $11,999 so it’s a steal! lol

Yes. HSN. For only $1,000 more, you can have the NGC version.

The 2026 Buffalo took half the day to move as many as the ATS that is currently listed for this EU gold Eagle, so I’m with you there.

I’ve seen presales so far, but has anyone seen an actual image of this one? Maybe one of the big boy’s sites? I’m leaning towards this one.

    I saw that too.
More important to me is a potential peek at what the EnhUnc ASE may look like as well.
This AGE is too pricey for me, given all the other stuff I want to pick up this year. The ASE may be possible, if I get in on 1. The subs are not available for that.

I’ve seen an image someone shared on another website and it looks better than I expected.

This is the highest resolution images from the Mint site, I just placed them side by side no other manipulation (it looks pretty nice to me):

Looks like a RP - not normal Burnished Unc Coin - video of coin on HSN site

I did find this image in my searches for the real coin, and agree it does resemble an RP more than a normal burnished uncirc

Wow. So not what I was expecting! I thought that was an RP! I think that an enhanced unc - like the ASE - would look better & is what I was expecting.

    Question for you guys.

I've been very much on the fence for one of these. I'm now all the more after seeing the image. The Buff was huge $, but I've been collecting them all along so I bought one.

In the course of going through some things yesterday, I found a sealed (was FS elibigle!) 2009 UHR that I accidentally opened after all of these years. I have another that is in the OGP as well.

I was debating selling one of the UHRs to fund the enhanced unc. Does that sound reasonable or would you all hold onto the UHR?

    Thanks

??? The UHR is certainly a more attractive coin, in more attractive packaging, with a more attractive informational booklet. That said the mintage on these is going to be A LOT less than 115K, so it stands to reason it might be worth more.

OTOH, you won't even get enough from selling one raw to cover the cost. Personally, I wouldn't sell the beautiful UHR for a little more than spot to raise funds to give the Mint a $900 premium for these. YMMV.

This completed EBay sale looks completely different than the image I found earlier. This one is an in-hand graded coin

    This one is a proof.

    Thx.

Based on the image where it looks like an RP I'll prob pass.
