Gold? Dragon Medallion from China

Does anyone know if this is real gold?
It’s issued by the 中国造幣公司 (China Mint Company) for the year of the dragon. That’s all I know.

I doubt they would make it of gold without marking it as such.

I believe this is a brass medal included in mint sets.

China, 1981, Year of Dragon gold-plated copper coin, part of a 12-piece set representing the Chinese zodiac signs between 1981 and 1992. It goes for around $12
