PCGS twice-charged handling fee

My graded coins are being "held" by PCGS because they say I did not pay the handling fee. But my submission document shows that I paid for the $10 handling fee plus $336 (12 coins to be graded at $28) plus $38 return shipping fee. I sent a check for $384 (10+336+38) with the 12 coins and the PCGS submission form. This was in January 2026...and now it is May 13th. PCGS says that I also owe for two PREVIOUS orders in 2025, but I also paid exactly what the PCGS submission form required.....including a $10 handling fee. Can someone explain what PCGS is counting...that I am not counting? So far, my six emails have received the same response.... "you owe a $10 handling fee for each of three previous orders".

Perhaps it is a new "Service Fee" like many restaurants are now charging?

Two approaches - try to call and talk to a live person or decide $30 is not worth your time and pay it. Depends on your tolerance for hassle and how much your money and time are worth!

I personally dropped my PCGS membership for various reasons.

You really just need to call PCGS, but as baseless speculation, did you submit any coins that needed to be on a separate submission form? I've only submitted to a couple other TPGs but if I recall correctly there were scenarios where separate submission forms (each with their own fee) were required.

    could be a cause.

did they have to break you submission of 12 coins into more than one submission form?

Whether by phone, email or through the mail, PCGS should be able and willing to provide you with an itemized breakdown of the charges in question for the current and two previous orders. Then, you could look for any discrepancies between their records and yours.

Just pay them. Consider it ransom for a loved one.

The accounting team is actually reachable by phone pretty reasonably. Worth a call.

Posting it here is not getting anyone anywhere.
It's a problem that no one here can solve, ONLY PCGS.

If you call early morning, regardless of subject inquiry you will most likely speak to somone with authority regarding your problem before day is done. Also, rather than paying "tuition" you might want to insure they aren't holding your order further for other past incidents that they mentioned. Get it handled person to person tomorrow and be done with it.

According to @wsharek, after six emails, he still hadn’t gotten an answer from PCGS that explained the apparent discrepancy. He politely asked here, whether someone might have an explanation that he hadn’t taken into account and received some potentially helpful feedback.
Additionally, as a result of this thread, @pcgs_social was nice enough to reach out in order to assist.
So it appears that in this case, posting here might have gotten someone somewhere.
