He doesn't have any of those old school display cases with the revolving shelves? 😕

    It otherwise looks nice.

No, he prefers static cases, I guess so he can pull all the trays and stick ‘em in the safe overnight. That would be a bigger chore with the Spin Display motion cases.

Back in my antique mall days, I had two of those Spin Displays, myself, and liked them. Couldn’t find any used ones on the secondary market so I ordered both of mine new from the factory. ($$$$).

They were great, but balancing the trays could be a little tricky at times if they had uneven weights.

What memories! Pushing those black buttons, finding a gem and waiting for the owner to revolve it all the way to the back and pull it out for closer inspection. It was a bit of a ritual!

Plus the heat from the lightbulbs could probably heat the store in the winter. 😃

My newer (early 2000s) ones had fluorescent tubes.

The roman coin is an antoninianus not a denarius. Note the spiked "crown".

I've been to that shop. Nice clean place. Don't know if I can say the same for the owner though. ;)

There's a local pawn shop near me that has one of those....some of the coins in there have a layer of dust on them; he has very little coin turn-around (prices are high).

Yes. That’s not Michael’s holder, but a customer’s. It was in with a loose box o’ stuff that recently came in the shop, which he hadn’t reholdered or priced out yet.

Gordian III antoninianii are so common that some of us on CoinTalk and NumisForums affectionately refer to them as “roaches”, but they come nice, usually, and their commonness keeps the price down and makes them one of the more appealing options in cheap Roman silver for that reason. Great starter coins for the novice Ancients collector.

I think they’re like the 1921 Morgan dollar of ancient coins.

Very nice, if I ever make it back to Asheville I’ll have to check it out.

Didn’t take pix of all the gold, for some reason. Mostly less expensive stuff. Guess that’s ’cause that’s what I was looking at.

I had one of those 1934- 45 Mercury dime holders. Filled it with
Fully Rounded Bands coins. Really nice ones. Except for the 1945-P.
Nice full bands, not the Walt Disney imagination ones. Still have
it in the safe deposit box.
When I met LM at Mikes shop, the place was hopping with some
buying and LOTS of selling. LM had to jump in and help. Good times.

Thanks for the click-bait title. Not even ONE photo of a fly on the wall in the shop.
