This one came my way today. And I’ve now flipped it within an hour of getting it. But if my friend Randy hadn’t wanted it, I’d have slabbed it and put it in my own collection.
The dealer and I concurred on Choice AU; maybe 58 on a good day, but we called it 55 to be conservative. Maybe a light dip in the past (it’s a tiny bit whiter in hand than in these pics), but we figured it’s probably market-acceptable and has a decent chance at a straight grade when it goes off to the TPG (PCGS or NGC). Worth a shot, right? What do you think?

The coin looks AU55 in terms of wear, but my guess is that it was lightly cleaned in the distant past. Even if so, a straight grade shouldn’t be out of the question.

Thanks. Pretty much echoes what both the dealer and I thought.
I should add that the price was right. And I made a hundred bucks when I flipped it, barely an hour after buying it. I hope the new owner does well when it goes off to PCGS.

I like it raw, but I'll say that about most coins anyways

Nice one 👍🏻
The toning is too perfect. But if Mark F says its AU55, it probably is without "details".
