Knicks this afternoon, only a -1.5 favorite. That line sure says the Sixers ain't going down without a fight. Maxey would need to wake-up from his slumber.
This may either be the smartest bet I ever made or the dumbest. I should pass on the game, but the Siren's are calling me to play the Sixers. I don't think I can resist.

I'm thinking of the maneuver that you and Galaxy sometimes do. Adding some points to the Sixers spread. Perhaps sacrifice some possible profit for better safety.
I'd be surprised if the Knicks blow-out the Sixers in this game. However if that happens, well I would have lost the bet anyway.

I know you're not saying this, of course not, but maybe I should bet on the cheat. Meaning they're gonna let the Sixers win. If I see cheerleaders on the playing floor for the Knicks, I may conclude that the cheat is in. 😆
This sticks in my craw a little bit. As mentioned, cashed out a Phillies bet yesterday before the game that I woulda won, and I did the same dam thing on a HR bet. I rarely do a HR bet, but they offered a nice a profit boost specifically on that, so I played it. The dam thing had to hit. Little hissed at myself especially because I've been lucky as yell, and semi-hot the past few days.
We seem to let it all hang out in this thread, good or bad, and it's one reason I really enjoy this thread. That being said, this still sticks in my craw, but I do feel better now having posted it, I think. 🤔
Watching "You've Got Mail" for the fifth time with his girl.
Nice walk in the park, feeding the pigeons and listening to the bluebirds.
Catching up on those household chores he's been putting off for ages.
Pleasant dinner with his girl, discussing, "How was your day?"
Relaxing evening with his girl watching "You've Got Mail" again.

You guys want a golf winner, Thitikul top 5 at +162. Not good odds for a top 5 ? The women’s game isn’t as unpredictable as the men’s. And Nelly isn’t playing this one. Jeeno is money in this one.
Mucho props to you on this call. Watched the ending Sunday. Did not put a bob or two on her unfortunately.

Sixers +7.5 at -235
Embiid over 5.5 rebounds
Maxey over 4.5 assists
End of first quarter and I'm already done, including the props. LOL
Sports betting - tough way to make a living.
Better to get it over with earlier
My buddy is INFURIATED right now, he bet the Yankees ML and lost it with a walk off HR with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, that's a classic rear end frosta

Thank you blue jay!
For some reason I just had a feeling she would play very well. She said to hell with top 5 I’m winning this thing!🥳😂

@Darin that was a crazy good call -- dude i told you that you needed to be our resident LPGA betting expert lol
sure wish i had listened to you instead of myself
Schauffele was in good form and had back-to-back runner-up finishes in his last two starts at the Truist, then he proceeded to play like yesterday's trash

Dam awful beat.
How about this? The Sixers ML was over for me well before the first quarter ended. But on both props I only needed one more on each with around 7 minutes left in the third quarter. Didn't happen by the end of the third quarter, and I sensed doom a mile away. Yes the coach decided to put in all the bench players in the 4th quarter.

Now I'm really hissed off. After that Sixers game where I got smacked around like a rag doll. I decided to take a day off. Well I would have absolutely destroyed that OKC game, props, everything would have hit.
I may lay low for awhile. Not a good idea to wager when you're badly hissed, the results are usually not good.

I been looking ever since my public shaming./ Self imposed time out and I would have cracked a few NBA parlays but would currently be getting stomped with Yankees and Dodgers plays so that makes it easier.
But to your point emotions and betting are rarely good combinations!
You know if you bet anything more than $57 it probably would have lost right?
It always seems the cautious bets cash but the $100 plus "obvious ones that make sense" seem to have a wheel fall off lol
truer words have never been spoken. when you're down a healthy 4 figures, the smallish 2-figure bets tend to hit more often. once that happens, you're inclined to ramp it up. next thing you know, a sizable 3-figure bet wipes out the smallish 2-figure wins and contributes greatly to the healthy 4-figure deficit, pushing it ever so closer to the cost of a World Series of Poker main event buy-in, which is 5 figures.
hope our thousands of viewers paid close attention to that, there will be a pop quiz later
De'Aaron Fox is a game-time decision with an ankle injury, so i'm going to duck his number tonight. hopefully he plays, but doesn't play as effectively........and the Spurs still prevail

OKC still a heavy favorite to win it all, but the Spurs have cut into that margin a little bit.
NBA Finals winner 2025-26 season:
Oklahoma City Thunder: -175
San Antonio Spurs: +390
New York Knicks: +600
Detroit Pistons: +2500
Cleveland Cavaliers: +3500
Minnesota Timberwolves: +7000
Wow! Some ambitious wagering there my friend. Hope you collect. I am almost embarrassed to report my small wagers for the PGA ship. But here goes:Bryson top 20,Scottie top 5,Hovland top 20,Aberg top 10. Only put Scottie in there in case my plays fail early maybe he can be a factor throughout so I have action into Sunday. All plays are of the $5 per type.
Successful transactions:Tookybandit. "Everyone is equal, some are more equal than others".
the PGA Championship is the line in the sand for me. if i pull an 0-fer, i'll be on a lengthy hiatus myself. that'll take me to roughly 7k in the hole, which doesn't sound very appetizing at face value, but when you consider that it's spread out over almost 4 years, it's not quite as horrendous.
and one other thing. @BLUEJAYWAY there are embarrassing aspects of this thread, but bet sizes are not one of them. if i had followed your lead and placed $5 wagers since the inception, i would have thousands more at my disposal. so if anyone should be embarrassed (even though i'm not), it's me. you're the responsible one who is acting with maturity and rational thought, my friend.
Since my little experiment with this began in football season 2024, football went very well for me in both seasons. While basketball goes up and down resulting in a stalemate of sorts, and baseball a downward slope.
No sense rehashing the details, suffice to say others have also stated the same thing. That of all the team sports, football is the most dependable to handicap. Yes, football can of course have bad beats, etc, as well, however with basketball and baseball it seems like bad beats are standard operating procedure.
Despite my football success, I'm not saying yet that football sports betting can be beat. I got lucky on some occasions and I realize that. First season Saquon Barkley props were like a license to print money - I killed that all season. While this past season I hit a nice offered contest by the book. A $5 contest bet I hit, netted me a $134 no-sweat bonus. Without hitting that, I would have still been up for the season, but not nearly as much.
Sorry this is off-topic so I obviously can't go into any details, but I have been a political junkie for a long time. I love sports and politics as well. With Kalshi now having a world of political betting in the US market, I plan on opening an account soon with them and perhaps take advantage of my political knowledge and maybe make a few bucks on the midterms. Kalshi also offers sports betting, and if I get the time, I plan on seeing if there is any easy arbitrage type profit to be made. Looking at that preliminarily, I haven't noticed any opportunities yet, but I haven't spent much time on it such as patiently waiting for the market to be posted, and then jumping quickly on some "sure profit" wagers. I fully realize that others have already been doing this, so it won't be easy, and maybe not possible for me, as some have already set up computer programs to automatically do this.

Let's try an appetizer before the OKC main course tonight.
Phillies ML
Rain delay - decided to cancel. No penalty.
OKC ML
SGA over 27.5 points
Holmgren over 6.5 rebounds
Hartenstein over 5.5 rebounds
Getting ugly out there, but sometimes ugly is good.
Excellent night. Would have been great if SGA would have came thru, but overall, I'll gladly take it.
Bronny made a bucket, Attaboy Bronny, I'm rooting for ya.

He got ejected in the second quarter. First time ever ejected in his NBA career.
Dam awful beat.
