Reversing Auto Renew

PCGS auto renewed my membership at 4am. I called immediately that morning to decline the auto renew and have tried 8 more times to reach a human. Each time I am told that queue is full and I am hung up on. Is there any way to reach a human at PCGS?

Casual collector: Morgans & Peace Dollars & 20th Century Type Set. Successful BST transactions with ProofCollection, Morgan13, CoinFinder, CoinHunter4, Bretsan.

With respect to reaching a person at PCGS via telephone, your best bet is to try calling when they first open for the day at 7:00 AM PT, if possible (i.e., before the queue gets full). Alternatively, there is a 'membership' option on the digital 'support form'.

Notwithstanding, Part 1, Sub-Section #4 of the 'PCGS CC Agreement' covers membership cancellations. In addition to calling to cancel, it appears that there is an online option. Unfortunately, if I read the policy correctly, there are "NO REFUNDS" after a (recurring) payment is processed.

Had the same issue. I did not recall ever signing up for autopay. May have been automatic, I do not know. Spoke with several CS reps who promised refunds. After about two months of no action, I filed a transaction dispute with Paypal (which I used to pay with). Had my refund the next day. Hopefully, your experience will be better.

Yeah. People neither read nor take responsibility for their own (in)actions.

I spent days trying to get to someone at PCGS in January.
I finally got an email reply but by then I decided not to renew after being a PCGS member for 20 years.

Just curious, is that paragraph the same size on the website when you are paying for a membership? I couldn't even tell what you posted until I zoomed in at 10x. Lol

I am not defending the policy. It is what it is.

That said, on the website, PCGS communicates the renewal policy multiple times. Specifically, on the page that describes the different membership levels, as well as the actual checkout page for subscriptions.

    1) Webpage that describes the different membership levels (under the FAQs):

    Link: https://www.pcgs.com/join

    2) Checkout Page (I added the highlighter):

    3) Checkout Page (I added the highlighter):

    4) Checkout Page (I added the highlighter):

Which links to the "PCGS COLLECTORS CLUB AGREEMENT".
And, Part I, Sub-Section #4 of this agreement says:

    Link: https://www.pcgs.com/termsandconditions/collectorsclub

Additionally, there is a FAQ that covers how to cancel future billing for a subscription (under "Using PCGS.com" section).

Do not know what the website looked like in the past. So, I cannot speak to that. However, in my opinion, the current website effectively conveys the policy of recurring renewals to new subscribers.

Mine won't or shouldn't auto renew this year (Sep) since the card on file expired last March.

Not sure if it is the case here, but many firms that sell subscriptions use a "card account updater" (CAU) to automatically update expired cards.

If you do not want to automatically renew later this year, you might consider following the PCGS instructions for stopping 'future/recurring' billing. Better safe than sorry.

I don’t care how many times the website says the membership will auto renew, I still think it is sneaky to make that the default option rather than making it a box you have to check.
