Well that Celtics loss was a bit painful. Should have cancelled the bet. But the book wouldn't let me cancel without taking close to a 20% penalty. So I left it in.

i still thought the Celtics might win it, but that game wasn't as close as the 9 point margin. The Celtics from the start never seemed to be in that game. I grossly underestimated how vitally important Tatum is to that team. Perhaps a mistake that I shouldn't have made. Hopefully I'll learn from it.

Celtics without Tatum had barely a shot, Derek White and Peyton Pritchard just didn't step up, the depth isn't there to overcome Tatum's absence

I was hoping they could pull through but Philly deserves all the credit, I wouldn't mind seeing them win it, I really like Maxey

Yes sir - Was all over the Yankees. And just caught the Astros as a ML dog.

Have the Pistons ML, and that's looking good.

Only other play in house is the Cavs ML

Also played a free to play game with the book. Pick a player to hit a HR today. I picked Judge and he hit one. Nothing big, I think it's for a 50% profit boost. Since it was free, I didn't take a close look at it. Whatever it is, I'll take it. 😊

Went from ice cold with that Celtics injury debacle last night, screwing me, to red hot in 12 hours. 🔥

Scottie with his 3rd second place finish in a row. In horse racing this would be called the "holy ghost". Or when a horse wins 3 in a row, or the same number at the track comes out 3 times in a row.

Well the Pistons game is in the bag. But I've got no stones, I admit it, so I cashed out on the Cavs game. No penalty. In my view it was the weaker play of the two NBA games, and I'm not in the mood to give back the nice profit made today. If the Cavs win, then they win, what the yell.

May look later at the MLB night games.

Adam Scott came from nowhere to turn a -200 weekend into a +25 one, so this bet feels like it was placed with house money

Tough break on Scott with the 2 stroke penalty. Lack of there of he would of tied with Scottie for second. I was amazed he rebounded so well after the miscue.
My threesome of bets were never in it.
Scottie and Jordan try to complete the Grand Slam this year. Thoughts?

He should try to be more like the most dominant player in golf, Nelly Korda.
    6 events this year….

    1. Won
    2. Second
    3. Second

Maybe Scottie will get tired of second like Nelly did and do something about it. Or maybe he doesn’t have the competitive fire that she has. Who knows?

that was a fantastic 1st half by Philly

OKC tomorrow night at home, first game in the series against the Lakers. OKC at -15.5

No value in the line either way that I can see. Maybe some props?

I am in disbelief at how bad Philly looked last night, I was talking with my buddies at work and I was saying how I thought Maxey might be a top 3 player in the league

Did he only play one quarter last night????

Knicks at -6.5 on Wednesday. Of course the line says they're not going to do that again, which wouldn't be any surprise.

I just quickly looked at their regular season schedule. After a blowout win this season, around 4 or 5 of them, only once did the Knicks come back next game and lose.

What can be tough to figure out though, is handicapping the NBA regular season, versus handicapping the NBA playoffs which is an entirely different animal.

Wednesday's game at -6.5? Nothing jumps out at me either way. I'll look at it closer on Wednesday.

As for tonight, I just can't see how OKC loses this game. Wouldn't be much ML profit there, just basically money to buy a burger, and a larger bet gets you a soda and fries with it. However all kidding aside, the larger bet does get you profit boosts on future bets, and that can be worth some decent money.

I tread cautiously though because last season, in an opening playoff series game, OKC was a heavy favorite at home against i forget which team. They had a 9 point lead with less than three minutes to go, and wound-up losing the game by three points. I played OKC in that game, and it was my worst loss of all last year. But I'm sure the coach will remind them of that loss, and because of that and other factors, I may try to grab a possibly easy ML win, even at the low odds.

    i got my answer

Spurs attempted a 3 in the final second of the game and missed

if someone grabbed the Wolves ML when the line first came out, they made a ton of money

can't remember the last time i saw a team shoot over 60% from the field and over 50% from 3, which the Knicks did. if they had kept their starters in they might have scored 170 points

it was a disgusting display by Philly

I don't engage the NBA betting until the finals and will toss a wager on the team I like to win the finals. Maybe tie in the bet with a golf top
20 as a parlay. Then have an interest in the finals.
I would think logically, and we know how that angle goes, the Lakers would want to send a message of sorts that they are in it to win it at the start of this series. By going all out in game one maybe they can steal a win, which they will need somewhere if they have high hopes of advancing.
They cannot afford to come out flat. Either way I am not a player until the finals.
Good luck to those who get involved betting wise.

Believe it or not this might be the time to put a bet on the Royals to win the AL central. I’m not saying WS or anything, just division. With Skubal out for the Tigers and Cleveland not being able to hit their way out of a wet paper bag, I think KC has a good chance. Hitting better lately and Cags maybe emerging as a power hitting OF that they’ve needed for so long. If I make it to the casino that’s my bet.

Excellent handicapping points, and I agree with ya. Which is why I'll probably play it safe with the OKC ML and also some solid props. OKC I've noticed in some games this season, can sometimes have a tendency to take their foot off the gas late in the game when the game is clearly won. Which of course could make the -15.5 particularly vulnerable. But of course if the Lakers quit, they could lose by 25+ points. We shall see.

Actually I hope the Lakers hang with OKC for most of the game. I'd hate to see OKC blow it open early, and my prop players not getting the minutes I need.

if I had an extra 10k laying around i'd put it on OKC to win the chip again without hesitation

i don't foresee any team beating them 4 times, including San Antonio (if they get to the next round)

OKC right now is -155 to win it all.

Seems like the books are practically begging for wagers on some other teams.

So I had a weird experience at the old betting kiosk today. The odds of the Royals winning their division was +320 and I liked that number in relation to where they are in the standings and how well they’ve been playing lately. So my intention was to place two $300 bets. Put in $300 and placed the bet. The kiosk said “waiting for approval”
which happens sometimes. Then it comes back with an offer of +250. I’m thinking why the &$”@ am I getting a counter offer when it says in black and white the odds are +320. So I’m not negotiating with a damn kiosk (I know it doesn’t actually make the offer but who knows with AI) and I refuse the offer. So I lower my bet to $200, same +320 and it accepts. Do it twice more for my $600 total that I wanted and they both get approved. Pisses me off that they tried to rip me off by making a lowball offer but I got what I wanted in the end. Might not be done betting on this play. BTW I placed these bets 30 minutes before the Royals and Indians game started, not sure about the other division teams. I think I got my money in good because KC is only half a game back after tonight. The downside is every single team is in the hunt. 😳

Do everything right, handicap it right, but their star player SGA phones it in. A lousy (for him) 18 points with only one 3-point attempt that he missed. Are you kidding me? On top of that 7 stinking turnovers!

An easy ML win, and because of SGA, overall lost money on the bet.

What hurts even more is all those beautiful boosts down the drain. It's like putting salt in a wound. I hate losing any bet, but especially when I've got a profit boost on it, the boost gone with the wind. 😒

One take from that first OKC-Lakers game, is the tale of two star players. LeBron had a pretty good game, while SGA had a well below average game including 7 turnovers. Yet overall, OKC still handled the Lakers with no problem.

So exactly what chance do the Lakers have of winning this series? How about zero.

You're exactly right. Particularly with parlays. Except I haven't played that many parlays, so those boosts usually aren't any good to me. Offered boosts on straight bets don't occur nearly as often it seems.

I can't complain, the old school books never offered any boosts or comps. Unless you were buried and couldn't pay, they'd usually offer a payment plan. And if you couldn't pay that, you'd be cutting their lawn each Saturday or something. Bad snow storm, you'd receive a phone call to get over here and shovel his driveway, etc.
