Meanwhile, all these NBA teams are beating up on each other. Wearing each other out with tired legs after a long season. While OKC the superior team anyway, is getting a nice rest.

Those $20 Dodgers bets needed Ohtani, Freeman and Pages to get some runs, hits or RBI totals and didnt happen but still a profitable day

The Nuggets game tonight seems interesting. I'll have to take a closer look, and then make a big executive decision by 9:30 tonight.

Been doing fairly well with props. So I'll see if there are any opportunities in that regard. Lately I've been leaving a lot of money on the table with these props, so I'll probably get greedy and lose by a hook.

I always did say this…… whenever Steverino uses “perhaps” in a post what follows is complete BS. Football 2027! 😂🤣
But that’s not the point and I should apologize. The point is a gambling addiction has led to the demise of Stevie’s promising business opportunity and I don’t think we should be encouraging him on this thread. Steve this comes from the heart, there are many resources available for the predicament you have put yourself in, not the least of which is gamblers anonymous. Just reach out for the help you need. I’ll be praying for you.😇

Darin - Look, we all know you're upset at not being invited to the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce wedding. You have our sincere condolences. Perhaps you can sneak into the reception, and maybe take a selfie with her. I don't think Taylor will mind. After all, you are one of her top infatuated fans. 😂

Close call but I think there is a little bit of value there.

    Jamal Murray
    Points, Rebounds, Assists, over 36.5

I'm not thrilled about this play. I think it's a coin flip. However with a profit boost, it puts the odds in my favor, so I had to grab it.

I almost live bet Atlanta +45.5 early in the 2nd and I'm glad I didn't

I had been thinking about betting Scottie "No" on Kalshi. After two straight adrenaline rush second place finishes, I thought he might bounce a bit in this tourney. He's now at T27, 7 strokes off the lead.

Of course it's Scottie, and he's always capable of soaring at any time. But the odds were bet a buck to win a quarter> @perkdog said:

I was looking at the same bet, but early in the 4th Q, when the Hawks were down by 53, and the spread was +51.5

I learned early last season that bad teams can be down by a lot, and they can just keep going down in certain games. Coin flip scenario which I try to avoid. But the Hawks are a playoff team, and the Knicks aren't exactly OKC. I figured that gap had to close, however I decided to pass on it.

Turns out the winning margin was 51, so with the Hawks at +51.5, I would have won the dam thing by a hook. Oh well. shrug. 🤷‍♂️

I forget a little bit because I just didn't like the game, and wasn't focused on it. But I think the Knicks were only -2.5

Therefore using NBA handicapping "logic", it's predictable that the Knicks would win by 51. 😝

Galaxy we don’t think you overreact we just wonder why you keep betting on it especially after posting so many bad beats. I pretty much gave up sports betting and I don’t miss the aggravation of losing bets that looked like winners at all. But the only one of you I’m worried about is Steve. He promised to work diligently on his new business project and now it’s floundering because of his addiction to gambling. The old boy needs help but the first step is admitting there’s a problem but he isn’t there yet.
I’ll be praying for him. 😇

Once in awhile Steve comes up with a good one. 😀
But of all the supposed Kelce- Swift jokes on this board, many of them from Steve, there still hasn’t been a funny one yet.

You guys help me with the humor. Two weeks ago my mom fell and broke her hip and I’m sitting in the hospital with her now. She had surgery and it went well and now she just has to build her strength back up to walk and get up from a chair etc, She’s 87 so it’s not easy for her but she’s doing well. At this facility they do a lot of rehab and she is getting stronger everyday! Reading your posts makes the days easier for me so thanks!

the 8-seed magic were up 3-1 in this series with a 22-point lead at halftime of game 6 to close out the top team in the East

and with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter, they have scored 15 points in the second half and are now down by 13

    i've seen it all

Some handicapper I am. The exacta was 9-5. I had the #'s but neglected to box all 3. To rub it in the exacta paid $97.58. The 2 horse broke a step slow at the start, lost all chance. When they do this the horse loses a length and all chance to win.

I looked at the buyout on my Pistons bet at halftime. It was a pittance. Dam book only ever offers a decent buyout when you've got the game in the bag.

Cavs couldn't get it done for me in OT. Would have had a big night if they had. Oh well.

Thinking about developing some different wagering strategies moving forward. Yes, I've already got the Celtics ML bet in. But contemplating also placing lesser amounts on the spread, so in case that hits, I get paid nicely. If the spread doesn't hit, I'm not going to wager all the profit that I made on the ML bet.

But even more important are the props. I've had a good number of situations whereby I win the prop, and that's great. However the player goes well beyond the number I needed. If I had played a tougher number to hit, it would have paid considerably more money.

So while my roll is still going in a positive direction and I'm pleased about that. Why not get it going even better? Realizing that greed can kill ya. So I need to be careful and stay disciplined regardless, stick to my grinding style, but perhaps open it up a bit with some bigger odds plays.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 31,798 ✭✭✭✭✭

First MLB play of the season with a nice easy ML win on the Yankees.

A good thing that I noticed from looking at Perk’s MLB wagers. For the most part he finds good teams, in the right situations, and pounds them with various parlays. For me, I don’t have his skill in analyzing MLB, nor the stones to play those high odds parlays,

That being said, I tried to get way too cute with MLB last season, and got clobbered. This season I’m gonna continue doing what I did today. Disciplined plays, grinding for profit. Maybe later in the season, I’ll try some MLB props.

Just a feeling that Perk pounded the Yankees in this opening game today. To hopefully get a good start on hitting some fat parlays.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 31,798 ✭✭✭✭✭

Uh oh - Celtics have crashed from -7.5 to -4.5

Must be a player is now out or something, or the whales are bombing the 76ers. In any event. I'm just gonna leave the bet alone and see what happens.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 31,798 ✭✭✭✭✭

Just googled it. Oh chit. 💸

"As of May 2, 2026, the Boston Celtics have officially ruled out star forward Jayson Tatum for Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers due to left knee stiffness/injury. This crucial development occurred following his early exit from Game 6 with a leg injury. The team will face the 76ers in the deciding game at home without him."
