GTG #3 - Double Coin

My third GTG thread! A 1878cc Seated dime & a 1907 IHC. (please note the dime is cleaned)
Since I’m posting this earlier than usual, I’ll post the grades after 48 hours (or 35 guesses, whichever comes first!)
Quick reminder that ANACS puts numbers on details coins, so you can guess an actual grade for the dime!

^^ Coin #1

Any guesses?

I’ll guess (edited to) VF details on the dime.
And that the first coin is an Indian cent.😉 It appears very/too dark for purposes of meaningful grade guesses.

fair enough, let’s see if these pics are any better!

they don't do the coin justice but now you can actually see the coin!

That’s quite a bit better. I’ll guess XF40.
The initial set of pictures might have discouraged participation to some extent.

I grade them as crackouts and stick them in an album

i like my coins protected, albums are fun but they scare me a little
(prestige albums are a bit too expensive for me)

XF Details on the dime.
AU58 on the Indian.
I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I would rather buy coins than plastic. But if you like the plastic, knock yourself out. To each their own.

These are good perspectives. While album costs are rising, I trust that @Goob will find a balance between paying for the costs of slabbing and recognizing coins that truly need the extra protection.

35 on the dime
55 on the cent.
Edit to drop the grade on the dime.
rather unhappy with the second set of IHC pictures I posted, here’s a third that I think will work best!

That does look better, MS64 BN on the Indian.

The cent looks way better in round three of the image posting, as much more design detail is apparent. It can be difficult to provide meaningful grade guesses, even when good images are provided and pointless to guess, when images are poor. Strive for good ones from the outset.
