by the way, the Spurs lost tonight too. so we had the Sixers +14.5 and the Blazers +11.5 win outright. if someone had dropped a 50$ parlay on those two moneylines, they would have made approximately 2 grand

Figure that one out? The line says Sixers bounce off their dog win, but who knows?
The siren's song keeps calling me. I just can't see how the Celtics lose this game.
I previously stated I was going to abstain until football season. Somebody please talk me out of this. Better yet, hack into my account, withdraw the $240 still in there, and don't give it back to me until football season opens up.
The book keeps sending me bonus notices. I guess they just can't stand it that I'm up $140. The latest one is a fat 50%. Betting the spread here puts the odds nicely in my favor. Problem is I hate betting the spread on a game like this. I prefer the ML. But the ML odds are going to be less than -200 on the Celtics, and the book doesn't allow using the bonus on odds of -200 or less.
I'll probably pass on it. If it wins, then it wins.

I had 2 picks in mind for Zurich. But resisted. Floating my play to Nascar Talladega Sunday. Never miss that tracks racing.
Good luck on your action. Will check in on the tournament.

I remember the days when it was NFL only lol
Now I heard from somewhere that they even offer soccer games from Africa. 😉
I guess that Kalshi and Polymarket must be hurting them. DK stock price has plummeted over 50% from February of last year.
Thanks bud, I figured I'd post a group of bets rather than basic $15 or $20 varieties daily, MLB is tough but unlike NFL you can jump right back in next day
tonight i absorbed what may be my worst bad beat since this thread commenced. courtesy of the NBA, which should come as no surprise to anyone. i had Boston-San Antonio-Houston tied together. Boston won, San Antonio won, Houston lost. how Houston lost is so unbelievable i can't even bring myself to discuss it. so i simply took a screenshot for you guys.
Rockets up 6, with the ball, 30 seconds left in the game

These kind of bad beats are right up there with the one in horse racing. The one where your horse wins by 3 open lengths only to be disqualified from first to second place.

Early in my first summer of visiting the track, I'm looking at the form, and in a cheap 5k claimer, filled with horses soon to be in Alpo cans, this particular horse for some reason I've long forgotten, jumps out at me at 50-1. So I put $2 to win on it.
Well you see it coming. With around 10 or whatever yards to go in the race, almost right at the finish line, my horse is holding sway just fine with a half length lead. No problem, I've got the race won with a very fat ticket. $100 was a lot of money to me back then. Then for some inexplicable reason, my horse veers in to the other horse that was unsuccessfully chasing it, and bumps it. My horse still wins the race by the half length, and the bump had absolutely nothing at all to do with the race result.
Of course the stewards in their infinite wisdom, took my horse down. I should have quit the dam track right then, with a ridiculous bad beat such as that.
There should be sports betting courts, whereby we can sue players for mucking up our bets, costing us money. Not only sue for the lost money, but the pain and suffering involved from the agony.
let's face it, what makes this thread the most entertaining is when we get hosed. i now feel like talking about that game last night. actually, i'm going to include a link so you can watch for yourself what happened. i couldn't believe it last night, and i watched it again this morning and i still can't.
but first i have to set the stage. as we all know by now, Rockets up 6, with the ball, 30 seconds left. when Jabari Smith was dribbling up the court in that still shot, the Lakers had conceded the game. they were retreating, putting no pressure on him whatsoever. the game was legit over. he literally could have walked the ball up the court until the shot clock ran down to zero (which would have left about 10 seconds remaining and them up 6), or he would have gotten fouled and made it a 3-possession game, which would have been insurmountable. in other words, it was virtually impossible to lose that game, even if you tried. what unfolded next is probably the worst 30 seconds of basketball i have ever seen. it required 3 Rockets with a combined basketball IQ of 4 to give that game away.
i've been gambling for a long time and i would safely and confidently place this bad beat in my top 10
i'm a stats geek and i just ran across a good one while reading up on that game
prior to last night, in the last 29 years, NBA teams were 1,713-1 when leading by 6 points or more in the last 30 seconds of regulation during a playoff game
can't win a 3-teamer with favorites to save my life, but i can find 1 of 2 losing needles in a 1,715-needle haystack

The NBA is so sick. Instead I think I'll try chicken racing from Thailand. I like the #4 chicken in the upcoming eighth race. Shows good form lately versus the other birds. Seems in shape with healthy looking feathers. 🐔
So what's gonna happen on Sunday night, Lakers versus Rockets at -4.5? Frankly, that line tells me nothing, basically a coin flip in my opinion.
That being said, if the Rockets have any heart left in them, they should come out firing. I doubt that they wish to get swept at home. I mean they're not a bad basketball team.
An interesting play might be Rockets to win the first quarter. Of course sometimes a basketball team can be too psyched-up, and their shooting touch becomes slightly off. Yes I expect them to be hustling, but they could miss shots.
Some Rocket players stats might be an interesting play such as rebounds, blocks, steals. They will hustle to get those and thus cover the props, but still possibly not win the game.
Good luck if anybody plays this game or the props. I'm gonna pass on it.
"Some Rocket players stats might be an interesting play such as rebounds, blocks, steals. They will hustle to get those and thus cover the props, but still possibly not win the game."
Thinking about nibbling at this. Not sure which ones to play. Might just place a nickel on all the Rockets starters. Could be a very interesting parlay, but of course one player phoning it in would kill it.
Rockets:
Durant 1+ steals
Smith 1+ steals
Thompson 1+ steals
Durant over 3.5 rebounds
Smith over 4.5 rebounds
Thompson over 5.5 rebounds
Oh what the yell, the below parlay is my contribution
to the sports betting industry because I love them so much.
I know this won't hit, but I just can't resist:
6 player parlay on the above, paying +696 with a profit boost.
Maybe I'll get lucky, hit 1 out of the 6, and I'd be satisfied. LOL
Was gonna play more, but that was the only Rockets players
they offered. Didn't see anything for blocks?
Lots of action at the end. Joker got into it with the Wolves.
i think he's on the verge of launching a haymaker. that is the second time in a couple of months when he looked like he was ready to kill someone. his team being on death's doorstep may send him over the edge. watch these vids and look at his face -- he's going to snap one of these days
I'm 50% BALLISTIC and 50% Thankful to Donovan Mitchell
He got me the 3rd 3 pointer I needed to cash my live bet but I also needed him to get 30 PRA and he was stuck on 29 for over half the 4th quarter so that destroyed my other 100 dollar parlay
Rockets went from -4.5 to -3.5 earlier today. Now I see it's -2.5
Lots of money going in thinking the Lakers are going to close out the series tonight. That could happen, but I couldn't care less either way which team wins. I just want a close, dogfight game, so my starting players get the minutes, with the best chance to hit my props.
Comments
I have WD from the Zurich Classic.😀. Will most likely tune in.
i'm not touching it either. i just can't get into the team concept. probably won't even watch a single shot.

Taking a week off from golf. Going to support Nascar at Talladega Sunday, Jack Links 500. Home of "The Big One". Picks to follow.
It's surreal
do you guys realize how much money i would have won had i reversed every single leg of my last parlay
why, why, why can't i just do something inconceivably stupid for once and have it turn out to be one of the best decisions of my life
I can relate,, except it's usually 1 leg that I. needed to reverse.

let's try these 3 out again, shall we
these games are tomorrow, but i'm sticking it in now just in case Wemby is cleared to play (i think the Spurs will win even if he doesn't)

A little sweat free matinee action
Nascar Sunday at Talladega plays. Any Chevy to win,top 5 finishes Joey Logano,Ryan Preece. Let's go racing boys.
Live bet the Yankees, the Sox are horrible
No hesitation to rip a hundred when it was 2-1 Sox
+150 sure seems like juicy odds in that situation, as you mentioned.
Well played!
Thanks Steve, only money can make me root for the Yankees

6 point lead, 30 seconds to go in the game, Rockets have the ball.
Then it goes into OT, and the Rockets lose. Just brutal.

Horrible
Had Jayson Tatum got 7 rebounds I would have cashed both these, he averages 9 or 10.a game but last night he decided to just snag 5 and it cost me
Mr Tatum also cost me a $700 win earlier in the week when he went 1 for 7 on 3 point shooting, I needed 2 and he only got 1

Badly need the Durant 1+ steals - got a fat 50% profit boost.
I just contacted Kevin. Told him to break somebody's arm if you have to, but please get me that one steal.
I hope the Rockets get humiliated in their own house and are swept out of the playoffs
but i'm sure they'll probably win today when it's just a formality......especially with Durant playing
edit: and then OKC will practically get a bye when they face the Lakers in the semis
OKC is now -125 to three-peat.
I don't recall ever seeing an NBA line that low, this early in the playoffs.
