How long are the PSA submission wait times now?

I was planning on going to the Hofstra show this weekend, and I was thinking of submitting my 1952 and 1955 Bowman Mantle cards. If I gave the cards to PSA at the show, how long do you think I should expect to wait to get them back slabbed? I hear horror stories of extremely long wait times, and I am debating if it's worth it. I would expect the 1952 to get a PSA 1 and the 1955 to get a PSA 3.

A quick google search told me that Hofstra does not have PSA on-site, so you would be using a submission partner. How long it takes is going to depend on the service level you would submit them at as it is a priority queue. My orders have been taking 4-6 months, but I submit Value.

It might happen if the label is printed wrong and u need to send back as a mechanical error.

Next PSA will collect the initial estimated fees up front so that they can earn interest in your money while they hold your cards for 8 months.

Based on their volume they might earn 7-8 figs a year on the interest if they do that.

Then the incentive becomes to hold the cards longer...........

So, if you believe folks running the business have long term goals then it would go something like this:
    1. Buy up all the competition so you gain 75% of the market share
    2. Raise prices slowly so customers adjust without bailing
    3. Increase turnaround times exponentially because customers have nowhere else to go (and it lets you reduce number of employees)
    4. Once customers get used to higher prices AND longer turnarounds then you collect fees up front. Since their cards will be gone longer customers will feel lucky they aren't paying higher grading fees when they're released (because they've been there so long there's going to be at least one price hike)

All depends on what you value the card and your submission level.

    Express
    $149.00/Card
    Max Insured Value: $2,500
**Estimated Turnaround Time: 15 Business Days***

    Super Express
    $299.00/Card
    Max Insured Value: $5,000

**Estimated Turnaround Time: 7 Business Days***

I think they heard me say I would leave if a casino opened up near me. Fingers crossed!

I read the posts about the issues but never really looked into how bad it is. I think I will be leaving them raw. It is too bad they can't get their stuff together.

The problem is they do have their stuff together from their POV. This is all as they planned. It's called a monopoly.

P.S. Id sooner burn my cards than use The CGG.

i guess the best way to deal with it, is just send cards that you have no interest in selling, then it probably won't matter as much.

EXACTLY. When I (rarely now) send in Killebrew items, it's to add new items to my set. I don't care about the grade

I can't find upgrades anyway, and if I found one raw I thought might be an upgrade, well PSA would just disagree.
