I have never heard of such a thing. Has anybody else?

The date on the dollar bills in the current eBay listing is 1985, so they are from the 1987 General Mills promotional giveaway.

the bills have james baker iii signature on them. he was treasury in the late 80s

Ah yes, the poor man's Cheerios dollar. It's pretty much just a spender for the finder to buy more boxes of Cheerios with imo.
