Have the 1854 $3 gold coin that was apprised at $3000 back in 1990, What do I have?

If your coin is 'graded', a fairly accurate price can be given. A 3000 dollar price would indicate that the coin would have to be uncirculated.
Quality images would go a lot farther than where you are now.

The coin wouldn’t have to be uncirculated if the appraisal was unrealistically high. And such a scenario would hardly be shocking.
