Appears to be a picture of an actual '09-S VDB in place of the actual coin to be sent -- Haven't seen that tried before on ebay.

There have been more than a few eBay listings posted here in which the pictures appear to be of genuine coins, but the expectation is that the seller will be shipping something other than what’s shown.

A switcheroo on eBay? Never would have imagined that as a possibility.

Typical of eBay and Etsy. Many fakes with real pics. The price is the dead giveaway.

And the sellers are usually in CHINA and have very few transactions. And 10 sold or available is just over the top.
This is absolutely, positively a scam. How can anyone even imagine getting a smoking deal on a key coin raw from China, where the EBay guarantee does not protect you?
Price and number available for purchase, too.Ten 1909-S V.D.B.s available?
Einstein’s view of God was non-traditional and pantheistic, focusing on the harmony, order, and intelligibility of the cosmos rather than a personal deity. His quotes reveal a profound respect for the universe’s mysteries, a belief in rational laws, and a moral philosophy grounded in compassion and understanding, bridging science and spirituality.
“My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.”
Albert Einstein (14 March 1879--18 April 1955)
To most posters:
Obviously it is a scam. My comment was simply that I had not seen scammers using the actual coin that they are faking.
That practice seems to have become more common the past couple years.

I'm even seeing it with worn coins. Coins that average G4 to VG8. I've been looking for a problem-free 1886 Liberty nickel to finish a set and the auctions I see show these worn, authentic coins yet the asking price (BIN) is $29.00
I'd imagine one purpose of this is to avoid eBay taking the listing down as the coin shown is authentic.

Well, if ebay hired a “coin authenticator”, he or she is not doing a very good job so far.
Yep. I see more fakes than ever before and the seller's don't seem to have any type of governor.
Hey that’s a pretty good price!
Wait a minute something seems fishy.
I can’t put my finger on it….middle finger that is!

Oh yeah, I see it all the time on EBay now, most of the sellers are outside the US (generally in China) where the EBay guarantee doesn't extend.
since when can't you get a full refund via a SNAD from any foreign listing?

It’s not flagged now. The seller may be but there is no notification on the 1909-SVDB sale page. Unless another few reports are made the sale will go on..
