!946-s, 1947-s, 1948-s Jefferson 5c with Sans Serif S
I was looking at some coins today that I have not viewed in years, including examples of !946-s, 1947-s, 1948-s Jeffersons with sans serif S. As I recall, Breen Encyclopedia recognized them and claimed they represented about 10% of each corresponding mintage. They are easily distinguished from the more common variety (trumpet tail S).
It surprises me that Fivaz Stanton guides (and thus, the TPG services) do not recognize these varieties, which are visible to the naked eye. At the same time, various RPM's and DD's that have FS-recognition are hard to confirm with magnification. The TPG's sometimes get these wrong.
Any thoughts?

Without pics it is just a cool story.
Just remember...the advice you receive on a site is worth every bit of what you paid for it.
I have always thought that the lists of Varieties are a reflection of what those making the list find to be interesting.
