Don't expect too much. You will be extremely fortunate to find ANY silver. At the end of the day ask yourself this question, "How much am I working for?" I admit I've never fully explored die varieties and errors in Kennedy halves so it's possible a few good non-silver ones got by me in my halves searching days. Nothing wrong with checking rolls of coins for something good. What are you expecting to find?

Einstein’s view of God was non-traditional and pantheistic, focusing on the harmony, order, and intelligibility of the cosmos rather than a personal deity. His quotes reveal a profound respect for the universe’s mysteries, a belief in rational laws, and a moral philosophy grounded in compassion and understanding, bridging science and spirituality.

I would forget about the boxes when it comes to silver.

I've had more luck finding silver from customer wrapped rolls and silver in the tellers trays. Always have cash in your pocket and hit every bank you pass! Account or no account, stop at every bank. You have nothing to lose. The tellers don't want the halves in their inventory. They want to get rid of them. Just ask them if they have any half dollars they want to get rid of. You might surprise yourself.

I'm not 100% sure but I've heard stories that these coin rolling companies (Loomis, N.F. String & Son, etc..), have silver detection devices in their coin counting machines, that spit out the silver before they get rolled.

Yes!... Silver in the tellers trays. You would be surprised, many young tellers don't know the difference between clad and silver... It's just a half dollar to them! Happy hunting Bro!

i agree with the above. always always go in with cash

plus the tellers love to get rid of them because they don't circulate, thus they have to count the every time they balance their till

if they hassle you about an account, just ask them if they wouldn't rather get rid of them to anyone?

The silver or 40%'ers we're finding in circulation or banks today, haven't been floating around in circulation for 62 years. It's people cashing them in (yesterday or last week) at banks or spending them that don't know they're silver! They won't last long in circulation, with you or me finding! 😂 👍

Thanks for the replies. I am not really expecting to find any silver but since I am now retired, its just something to do when I get some down time when sitting at home.

Lots of ignorance out there. Have in one's possession a silver coin or coins without realizing that their silver coin(s) will bring them double digit multiples of face value.

And don't even get me started about lack of awareness of the Coin Star reject bin and what it could be holding just waiting for one to scoop up.

    Halves or quarters?

Shouldn't you have thought about what to look for before you decide to get a big box of coins?

Many of us started that way. Just jump in and see what happens.

Exactly what I did......just jumped in and see what happens and learn.

And today, I was at the grocery store and checked the coin star machine. Scooped up $3.24 in modern coins.
