1988 Topps Mark McGwire Magenta Triangle...is it as good as the ebay listings suggest???

I was on ebay recently looking for errors and stumbled across the 1988 topps record breaker McGwire magenta triangle by foot variation. It looks super cool, and I had no luck finding any sold listings for it. It seems really rare...but people are asking five digit figures for legitimate magenta triangles. Is it as rare as it seems? And is it really worth thousands??? Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

Seems like it would be easy to duplicate using pink highlighter.

It really appear that way. I looked at the three copies listed and all have different, incorrect, magenta tones to them and the bits of visible white are different shapes and placement. Not 100% ruled out but I don't feel good about this one.

This is getting really interesting. The magenta triangles all do appear to have different color placements (at least from the angle the pics were taken). However, one REALLY interesting thing...every MAGENTA version has two parallel "yellow" bars running vertically down the front on the right-middle of the card. The third one was a version I found...after looking through at least hundreds of them. If any of you guys has one or you think you might PLEASE post a pic!!!

Would be happy to be wrong and learn of something rare that has been this well-hidden from the junk era (on a superstar card, no less) but still not passing the smell test.

I picked up a copy of the magenta (more pink) triangle card and examined it under a good light source and I do not see any signs of recoloring or messing with it.

My copy is the first I've seen without the two vertical yellow lines on front. But I have also seen corrected versions with these lines so they may not mean anything.

I'm still curious as to why they changed the color (pink to magenta to red on red background) so many times for this one.
