Got My ANACS Submission Back

I mostly use ANACS as a cheap way to get questions answered and find out if something is worth sending to PCGS. This time I sent some random stuff in just for kicks and questions answered. The dollar I pulled from circulation, the edge lettering machine seems to have slipped. The nickel was also from circulation, I’ve had it a couple years because it’s strange and needed something to put in the submission lol. The dime is an interesting one, it’s a silver proof I carried in my pocket. A larger TPG called it counterfeit. ANACS at least holdered it 😂. None of my others received the designations I wanted, so I left them out.

Sorry, the photos are out of order. Not sure why, any tips on how to fix/prevent appreciated. Still learning the quirks of this forum.

Sounds like a expensive experiment

I have found with this stupid software that if you upload them all at the same time, they will post in random order (I guess because some images take longer to upload than others). You have to upload your pics one at a time if you want them to post in any particular order.
As to using ANACS as a cheaper way to satisfy one's curiosity about certain coins, why not? Congrats on the Polk $. "Proof 20 details" on the dime is kinda fun, too.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
When it comes to coin collecting, I encourage everyone to do pretty much whatever they like. As long as it’s making you happy it’s hard to go wrong.
But that said I would very humbly suggest reallocating the money you’re currently spending on submissions like towards coins that you enjoy and are worth owning (TPG graded or not).
Not expensive at all. It is actually the cheapest tuition one can pay for.
It might be cheap tuition but that doesn’t necessarily make it productive tuition. Of course, the submitter gets to determine that.

Thank you!

I once had a 1849c dollar in a rattler that I convinced myself would look better better in a ANACS soap bar so I submitted it at a show only to have it come back in the their short lived flimsy blue holders. I paid a tuition to lose 30% of its value.
This seems mild in comparison

At least you got your submission back. And I have been a defender of ANACS!
I handed off my submission directly to ANACS on Nov-15 under assurance that I would "almost certainly" get it back in time for FUN. Crickets for a while until I finally reached out four times now, learning each time that they are STILL not graded. So maybe they meant SUMMER FUN?!
And the excuse given was that there are some varieties that I listed that have to be verified.
They are REDBOOK VARIETIES. I mean, how long should it take to verify varieties out of the RedBook?
Estimated completion is now end of March* * * sigh * * * lesson learned that four and a half months is not worth the ANACS discount over NGC /PCGS.

I kind of like the term “artificially circulated” which is going to be the case for so many of those Po-1 and Fr-2 coins of modern times. Doesn’t make them uncollectible or unfun but it is more accurate.
Email received yesterday that my package should arrive within 1-3 days. Excited.... I guess?? Heck, I don't even remember what coins I submitted for grading

Whatever you submitted, by now they're ancients.
