It was two first rounders. Dallas offer a first and 2nd and the Ravens said hold my beer and traded away their first rounders for the next two years
Missed that, thanks
Supposedly Brady used his influence to make sure he didnt go to the Pats unless they offered a deal you couldnt refuse
Yep I read that, I wish he would do everyone a favor and just come out and say he is still pissed at Kraft for releasing him or admit he cannot stand Vrabel.
I'm getting to the point where I live what Tom. Brady did in New England but outside of that I can't stand the guy, my buddy who is just as much of a )Patriots fan as I am says the same thing.
Yea Ive been hearing that a lot more where its like thanks for what you did but go pound sand now. Ive also been hearing some rumors that he wanted to buy into the Pats ownership ground but expected a cupcake deal like the Raiders and they said no which is what made him so bitter

They sign Cousins to that stupid contract then draft Penix to creat a problem that shouldn't exist with a first round pick now they spend money on trash broken down Tua
They are literally almost in Cleveland Browns territory with stupid QB decisions
But watch, no doubt when we bet against him next season he throws 5 TDs to lose our bet.

not only are they going back to him 13 years later, but look at the names sandwiched in between
and household names like Vick & Rodgers barely had any tread left on the tires
here i thought the Browns were the most pathetic franchise in the NFL
the Jets are next-level
I do fantasy football and I don't recognize some of those names.
I pay a lot of attention to the NFL and I don't recognize some of those guys either
Theres a lot of guys on the list that were never expected to start but did but did for a couple games due to injury. Like Cook was never expected to start but ended up doing so from injuries after being signed as an undrafted free agent. They definitely had their misses with some bad high picks and some cultural problems or whatever is going on there but I wouldnt put them right up there with the clown show in Cleveland just yet
I definitely wouldnt want to be a Brown or Jet though if I am a QB

I didn't want Murray either. I'm more interested in playing McCarthy and seeing if he's going to develop.
Murray has had injury problems, and they are getting WORSE! Missing 3 games in 2021, 6 games in 2022, 9 games in 2023 and 12 games last year.
Getting Kyler for the league minimum salary is good, but unless they are thinking of signing him long term after this year, I don't see the logic. Maybe they think he can win us a Super Bowl this year (delusional with that offensive line).
I guess it's the way we do things now, instead of building for the future we are in "must win now" mode.
By the way. even with a rookie QB who was hurt a lot and a back up QB who was hurt a lot, the Vikings missed the playoffs last year by HALF A GAME! Only 5 teams had more wins in the NFC.
It should be an exciting season if Murray can stay on the field............but then?

They're paying league minimum for veteran backup insurance. There's no chance that they're bringing him in to start.
no chance of them bringing Murray in to start? that's exactly why they signed him. it's his job to lose. it signals the beginning of the end for McCarthy. Minnesota could not afford to waste another year with all of those weapons on offense, and that's exactly what would happen if JJ had the keys to the car again. Minnesota knew that, hence the move.
it's an ideal low-risk/high-reward scenario. QBs make 60 mil nowadays, and Minny is on the hook for a whopping 1.3 for an experienced former #1 pick who is still south of 30. if Murray pans out, which is entirely possible seeing as Minnesota is the most effective place for a QB to resurrect his career (Cousins, Jones, Darnold), then it'll be a phenomenal acquisition. if not, he's gone in a year and they paid relatively nothing for that experiment.

He's injury prone but it looks like he has been All Pro and/or to the Pro Bowl 5 times.
TRASH? Care to elaborate?
Also McCarthy looked much better the last 5 games, all wins.
He has never thrown for 4000 yards or 30 TD's, he is small and I don't think he is guy that is consistent at anything good and half his career he has been injured.

Two main reasons;
First, I want to see if McCarthy can develop into a solid starter. He's looked lost at times, but has also shown some flashes of being very good. If Murray is the back up, that's probably OK, but if he's our starter and does well, he's here for one year and then it's back to McCarthy or ?????. The people here seem to think Murray is going to step in and start.
If Kyler beats out JJ and we win the Super Bowl, I would be thrilled. I doubt that will happen.
Second, I haven't seen many running quarterbacks that have done very well long term. They always seem to get hurt, AND Murray has had injury problems, and they are getting WORSE! Missing 3 games in 2021, 6 games in 2022, 9 games in 2023 and 12 games last year. His injuries have been knee and foot too. not a good sign. As you said, he's short and I don't see him as a pocket passer. My sports fanatic buddy who lives in Arizona is VERY HAPPY to see Murray leave! He says Murray IS inconsistent.
Getting Murray as the back up for the minimum salary IS a good thing. Apparently the Vikings have some big salary cap issues, so they saved money.
Everyone here is so focused on the QB position, Vikings have no center and a left tackle that has been hurt for two seasons. They need to pass block much better to compete! I want JJ to be our starter and not get obliterated by the pass rush!

I'm getting the feeling they are going to start him. He better be healthy. because he'll be running for his life unless left tackle Darrisaw recovers from his knee injury and they find a GOOD center.
Maybe it will save McCarthy's career by keeping him off the field?

he is absolutely going to start. he didnt sign with Minnesota to be a backup to JJ McCarthy. Vikings players have made it publicly known that they are thrilled to have him. i know you dont like KOC, but he's been a wizard when it comes to developing quarterbacks. this has a chance to be very good marriage for your team. there's even rumors of the Vikes trading up to get Jeremiyah Love. if that were to happen, their offense could be ridiculously formidable.
as for your friend in AZ, he's not wrong about Murray underachieving there. but your friend is also aware that the Cardinals are one of the worst organizations in pro sports. they were culpable for his lack of success too. as I said up above, Minnesota is not Arizona. and KOC will easily be the best coach Murray has had.

Still need some pass blocking, I still don't like KOC's game time decisions, but if Murray wins us a Super Bowl. I'll LOVE IT!

I'm close to adding the Vikings to the Browns and Jets as far as having such a QB conundrum
Granted they have had way better QB's but they don't like to hang on to them if they do well
Kyler Murray is trash imo but he might be an upgrade over McCarthy
I dont think Murray is one of the better QBs in the league or anything like that but I do think hes better than McCarthy. At least when Murray sucked he didnt have much around him and when McCarthy sucked he had some superstar WRs.
In JJ's last four games, he had a rating over 100 twice, a 3-TD game, and Minnesota scored 30+ twice. In Kyler's five games this year, Kyler had a 100+ once and neither of the other two.
They didn't bring in a mediocre, injury-prone, undersized guy who had never been great to be their starter over their first round pick whoop showed progress at the end of his rookie season.

Thanks for noticing that McCarthy improved at the end of the season instead of being one of the "McCarthy SUCKS" guys.
It also doesn't seem to mean anything that Murray's last team is happy to spend $23M to get rid of him, and that he's injured a lot.
Hopefully at the end of the day McCarthy progresses some more (NEED OFFENSIVE LINE) and becomes our starter.
I just don't see the excitement over getting a QB who is going to be gone next year especially if he has a good season.
I guess he was cheap.

@Tabe you are starting to sound like JJ's agent. you are literally the only person i have spoken to or read about who thinks McCarthy is going to remain the starter. Murray could have gone anywhere with the idiot Cardinals paying his majority of his salary next season; he didn't pair up with Minnesota to sit behind a guy who has played 10 games in two seasons, thrown more interceptions than touchdowns, and churned out a QBR that was near the very bottom of the league even with those 4 games you mentioned.
at this stage, McCarthy needs meaningful reps for his ultimate growth. those first-team reps are going to be split now, and they're going to be split for valid reasons you're not able to see because you're blinded by maize and blue. it's not going to happen. you'll see in about 6 months.

They may not have guaranteed him to start, but they also didnt tell him that no matter what he wont start. They brought him in to compete for the job, he would have signed elsewhere if there was no chance to win it. He is a former Heisman winner and first overall pick that was on bad teams and McCarthy has lost QB battles before
McCarthy may beat him out, but its not set in stone

Yea Ive been hearing that a lot more where its like thanks for what you did but go pound sand now. Ive also been hearing some rumors that he wanted to buy into the Pats ownership ground but expected a cupcake deal like the Raiders and they said no which is what made him so bitter

I cant stand Kraft or Belichick, now I can't stand Brady
But watch, no doubt when we bet against him next season he throws 5 TDs to lose our bet.
he is unbearably douchey and i can hardly stand him in the booth
hey ya Galaxy 🔭 🚀 🪐 & P-Dawg 🏈🏈🏈
he is unbearably douchey...
Um...What flavor...???
I'm kinda partial to Strawberry 🍓 🍓🍓 and/or Cherry 🍒 🍒🍒...
More than likely 🤬
That's awesome!
Hope Brady try's the Pats again and we offer less than before
Failed his physical. Knee isnt healthy and expected to take a while after his knee surgery in the off season

He's getting league minimum from Atlanta. Absolute definition of low risk.
I just happened to be on The Insta at the right time to find that one...
As with a few other Good 1's..
🤓💻👌
I thought they were taking on that big money but apparently the Dolphins are on the hook
Oh well Tua still sucks and whatever they give him is a waste of money
Pats signed Romeo Doubs from the Packers
I like him, good pick up
hey ya P-Dawg...
Would you put Doubs on a: Red Peg, Old School Single Clip, New School Duel Clip, or a TTC...???
👌👌👌...
He is new school
I'm guessing we'll hear Elton John's "Benny and the Jets" changed to Geno and the Jets at least 500 times this year
The Jets love to be awful
here ya go P-Dawg...
New School Duel Clip's & TTC's...🔌🏈 🔌🏈 🔌🏈...

not only are they going back to him 13 years later, but look at the names sandwiched in between
and household names like Vick & Rodgers barely had any tread left on the tires
here i thought the Browns were the most pathetic franchise in the NFL
the Jets are next-level
Not sure what's more shocking
How bad that list is or that Geno Smith has been in the league for this long
Im more shocked that he wasnt a back up the whole time and Seattle and Vegas let him start

P-Dawg types:

I'd put him on a Red 🟥 Peg 📌...
I do fantasy football and I don't recognize some of those names.
I pay a lot of attention to the NFL and I don't recognize some of those guys either
well that was nice of him
Theres a lot of guys on the list that were never expected to start but did but did for a couple games due to injury.

I'm not a fan of the Murray signing. I'd like to give JJ McCarthy another year to develop. Maybe that is the plan?

First of all, I didn't want him. But............................"TRASH"?
He's injury prone but it looks like he has been All Pro and/or to the Pro Bowl 5 times.
TRASH? Care to elaborate?
Also McCarthy looked much better the last 5 games, all wins.
They're paying league minimum for veteran backup insurance. There's no chance that they're bringing him in to start.
I hope you're right! Now let's fix that O line!
If McCarthy gets hurt or fails miserably, they have a great backup at a very good price!
GO VIKINGS!

He has never thrown for 4000 yards or 30 TD's, he is small and I don't think he is guy that is consistent at anything good and half his career he has been injured.
Why don't you want him?
Care to elaborate???
Two main reasons;
GO VIKINGS!
Vikings players have made it publicly known that they are thrilled to have him. i know you dont like KOC, but he's been a wizard when it comes to developing quarterbacks. this has a chance to be very good marriage for your team. there's even rumors of the Vikes trading up to get Jeremiyah Love. if that were to happen, their offense could be ridiculously formidable.
as for your friend in AZ, he's not wrong about Murray underachieving there. but your friend is also aware that the Cardinals are one of the worst organizations in pro sports. they were culpable for his lack of success too. as I said up above, Minnesota is not Arizona. and KOC will easily be the best coach Murray has had.
the potential is there
Except J J McCarthy.
Still need some pass blocking, I still don't like KOC's game time decisions, but if Murray wins us a Super Bowl. I'll LOVE IT!
Then the Vikings will get back to J J McCarthy.
You did a very good job explaining why I think he is trash.
And why you don't want him lol
I wouldn't go so far as to say he's "trash". He has been all pro/pro bowl 5 times and appears to be a great runner.
A lot of fans get excited about a guys athleticism. We had Daunte Culpepper, big, strong arm and a great runner. He hurt his knee and he was done. RGIII also comes to mind.
Obviously Arizona is tired of him and I'm sure they tried to trade him with no takers.
I still don't think he's "trash".
I don't hate the guy I'm just sick and tired of the stupid money these get and when you look at what they accomplished it's a joke so he can handley trash comment just fine lol
Yeah, all these guys get paid too much.
BUT is it his fault? Cardinals ARE a horrible organization.
If he starts here, I'll be cheering for him!
I dont think Murray is one of the better QBs in the league or anything like that but I do think hes better than McCarthy. At least when Murray sucked he didnt have much around him and when McCarthy sucked he had some superstar WRs.

Agreed - I hope I'm wrong. Maybe having decent veterans around will help him get off the video games and study?

I'm about ready to start praying they get a center and Darrisaw comes back healthy. That is getting SAD.
