Visit the ANA Museum in Colorado Springs

If you have a sweet tooth for US Coinage, the ANA colleciton in Colorado Springs is a must place to go. They have dozens of rare patterns and coins one would think they would over ever see in the Red Book, on full view and they display the coins so they can be seen front and back.

I've never got this hooked up to my main website my there are images of some of the collection which I took here

I’m fairly sure that collection was sold a couple years ago.

As far as I know it is part of the Harry Bass collection. I was just there about 2 years ago and will be going back in a couple of weeks. It is close to Ft Carson where my ex-wife was stationed while I was stationed in San Antonio

Your right. They sold the Bass collection. I must have been one of the last people to have seen it. The Museum is still there, though, in Colordo Springs. It seemed to me, at the time, that the value of the collection wasn't nearly balanced by the amount of security that they had. It is too bad and now the ANS collection is going to Toledo. For all the money in US Numismatics, these organizations seem to struggle.

Depends on the time period in which you are "visiting". The Harry Bass collection was sold in 2022-2023, so if you "visit" before then, you may still "see" it. If you visit in the present day (2026), you will not see it.

Edited, as I see that the misinformation from this poster had already been refuted.

They still have a few nice things on display, like an 1804 Dollar, a 1933 Eagle……

I went a couple years back when visiting family, definitely a cool experience. One of very few museums I actually enjoyed!

He changed his name, faked the jail icon, and locked himself up.

    Good catch

I think that the icon is a legitimate "forum jail" icon. If you click on his name, the bars appear without the keyhole.
