Guess the Grade on this ugly ol' Merc? ... Grade Posted...

As some of you know, I've got a little box of 20 PCI project going. A few years back I bought an original PCI box from a board member here just for fun and thought I'd try to fill it up with some toners from those old holders. This is my latest - I'm up to 12 coins now I think. It's been a fun little side project.
Anyway, feel free to guess the grade.

Sorry to see it's turning in the slab. I bet she was a looker in her day. MS67FB

Looks very much like a '43 Merc graded PCGS MS66 that I own , but if the small 'nick' on the subject Merc's reverse 'blade' demotes it, then MS65.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Assuming the scratches are on the slab, I'll wager 65 not FB.
I don't think it's ugly.
I think the grade on the PCI slab is 67 FB. In a current day slab....lower.

That was exactly my opinion other than the opposite.

FWIW - I'd guess it is an MS66 but i can't really tell if there is a little wear on the coin. It is super clean and the reverse is hammered.
I thought 67 fb too

I’ll say 66, no bands.
nah and not even unc.

"Stringent" is the right word. PCGS is stringent too.

He's refer to your totally unnecessary and dickish comment about someone else's guess, not your guess itself.

I think it's nicer than the grade says... Also, I don't think it's ugly at all I was just being funny.

Here you go.
MS62? There must be more going on than I am seeing in the pics.
It's pretty clean. It was an ebay purchase and I was really surprised when it showed up. It's got to be a 63 or 4? The luster is a bit muted but I assume the dark edge toning had caused some of that.
I have to agree with you on this one about unnecessary. But dickish?? Of course, johnny isn't the only one calling this piece unc. with moon numbers and I failed to take that into account when I commented to johnny's post. I take responsibility for being out of line by singling out Johnny. Johnny, no offense intended. The "nah" from me about FB was uncalled for and I'm sorry I responded to your post the way I did.
"BU, rub" is my last and final answer as grade for this piece.

Those are not original surfaces
MS 62! Alright! I've got a collection going of nothing but TPG graded MS 62 pieces. This one would be a great addition to my set. I never did, at any point, think your coin was ugly. And my final answer for grade was spot on, for BU,rub can equal (doesn't have to of course) MS 62 at all the grading services.

I'm glad ya was close
It’s a bit muted because it’s all been stripped away
I thought that was an artifact of the image, but as you mention it, that is a very strong possilbity.
