Welcome back! A few more names come to mind from that era: lsutigers1973, RonBurgundy, Boopotts, begsu1013, itzagoner, and Felicia (IJustLoveCards)
LSUTigers1973 (Bill) is on Facebook. He and I never saw eye to eye back in the day and then an odd thing happened. We started agreeing on some things and now tolerate each other as Facebook friends. LOL
I always wonder about the guy who was a city administrator or something and decided to go to law school. If I remember right he was a huge Notre Dame fan.
January of 2002 here. Was a spring chicken of 32 then. Now 56.
Internet (eBay) and auctions (mastro etc) and this message board started really opening my eyes to hobby items and culture that I had only dreamed about prior. Still lurk all the time.

I had a positive transaction with Bill on these boards. I bought a 1979 Topps Nolan Ryan PSA 9 from him. Smooth transaction all the way.
Think I joined in 2005. Time flies, for sure. I hope all forum members--old and new--are doing well and still enjoying the hobby.
There were so many memorable threads back in the day; too bad some of the characters seem to be long gone. And Bill (LSU Tigers) was always one of my favourites. A bit rough around the edges at times, but he was always fair and honest with me (he flawlessly handled a couple of PSA subs for me) and I thought him a valuable member of the forum. Of course, there were/are many many others--too many to mention, I suppose. Anyway, good luck and good health to all.

Been around since 2003. Still in the hobby collecting mostly vintage baseball. Met some great folks on here, but don't check in as much. I'm a little disillusioned with all the changes with PSA these days, and not feeling the love as a vintage collector. When are they bringing the $5 monthly specials back?

All time great thread. Reminds me of the days in the late 80s and 90s when we would rent minivans to go unload garages, storerooms, living rooms, doghouses, she sheds, basements and bathtubs. Yes, we actually hauled out a collection that was piled up in a bathtub!

Completely agree. Of course we were all hoping they'd find a T206 Wagner in there. But a 1952 Mantle wouldn't have been bad either. 😊
I sometimes wonder where all the "old" names have gone. and why they left. I am sure some have just left the hobby. sadly, others have passed on and most of those we will never know about. I highly doubt most wives/significant others would take the time (or even know their loved one posted) to make an announcement. those posters, and myself someday, will just post for the last time and that will be the end of it...
I have been a member of many message boards covering many topics for many years. I have tried all the different social media interfaces, but they just seem lacking to me. tons of very short 3 word replies with very little actual discussion or information shared. I like the longer form back and forth on message boards best. call me a dinosaur

Same here.
In the early days of the internet, it was new and exciting, and everybody loved it. I joined it must have been over twenty-five various forums. Well I still actively post in some of them. The others it's only once in a blue moon, or not at all. Some of them went extinct for various reasons.
I’ve been here since 2003. I do remember you. My old username was “bobbybakeriv”. I’m getting back into things with PSA since I’ve certainly got the time. I remember you.
I don't remember the first date of originally joining the forum, but It was prior to 2002 for sure. I had two other accounts in the past, Superpunk813 and hockeydude$$$$$. No clue what the passwords or emails associated with those accounts are so I just created this new account when I came back in 2019.

I joined in 2005. One of my favorite old time posters was GumbyFan. He was an organizer of group submissions and group rips and did a great job.
