Damage. Looks like someone may have scratched off the mint mark

99.9999999% of all anomalies on coins are damage or worthless. You would be far better served studying b actual errors - there are a very limited number of types. Once you know what a real error looks like, you will be able to search more efficiently. It is a waste of time for you to be looking through coins trying to find errors. Kindly, you simply don't know enough about them.

All comments reflect the opinion of the author, even when irrefutably accurate.

    I'd save it. It's a starting point. Why ?
    1 Copper
2 Nice even patina, if error.
3 Find another 37 to help a theory . Research worthy.
    4 The IF factor

    Ya just never know.

Errors? I've got a whole bowl of them. For some reason, people throw them away and I find them in the street.

Bad advice for a coin that is obviously damaged. It is not worth bothering with. Spend it and move on.

    All glory is fleeting.

Respectfully, take note of the previous post from @lermish above. Then, read it again. It pretty much says it all….

I’m more concerned with the “Van Gogh” ear…… A new variety? 🤪😉

Can you please post coin pictures so the coin sits “correctly”. Your posts are challenging enough without multiple rotations of the same coin. Take it easy on us, OK?

    @chattycoins find anything interesting?
No ? How about this photo taken last night while cleaning up.
Use it, but don't assume it. This is not an answer to your question.

    I'm not that easy.

The thing by the date is just another of many wounds that coin suffered in someone's deliberate attempt to murder it.

    And they succeeded.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
