I was was looking through my PCGS Slab Holder Boxes and noticed that two of my Britannia have taken on some dark tone on the edge. Does our host have a policy against air leakage on their holders? I see no damage to the edges of the slabs.

I don't believe any slabs are airtight. Some might be more impervious than others to gas exchange, but they all allow some passage. My guess is that since they are not graded 70 then PCGS might say no dice.

Are you storing them close to any rubber bands?
The toning seems so concentrated to a specific area.
I can only speculate that there is a very small pinhole or hairline near the toning?
Your situation reminds me of a few bars that I had stored in a shoebox for the better part of 10 years.
The sealed soft plastic had developed some pins/slits/cracks that allowed air to intrude/tone the silver in a concentrated area.

.
I have come across written comments about the plastic of certain era slabs causing toning. No idea whether this applies to all graders or a few and what time era.
No rubber bands involved, housed in PCGS slab containers.

Strange how the rims got so dark, esp on the Britannia. I have 60 year old mint sets in the cellophane that split a little and started to turn the rims dark, but not like these.
I received a question about the pick up point on the Mule designation in the
The OBV is supposed to have gear-like denticles as the REV does on the Britannia.
The Year of the Horse version does not.
The Mule has one side, Britannia with gear-like deticles, but the other side, Queen Elizabeth, does not.
