They havent committed, but it would save them money and its definitely turned into more than just a bargaining chip now

Ya never can tell with negotiations such as this. But my guess right now, I think it's very possible the move may take place for a multitude of reasons.
I wouldn't like at all seeing this happen to great Bears fans.
The other owners could block it, but they generally dont vote against each other. As of now I do think its most likely especially since its only 30 minutes from Chicago and there are multiple teams that dont actually play in the city they have in their name

You're right. The obvious example are the two New York NFL teams who haven't played in New York for a long time. Yet the teams kept the New York name.
I don't wish to overanalyze this, but New York City and North Jersey have always had sort of a symbiotic relationship. Those two NFL teams keeping their full name, was basically no problem at all to anyone in New Jersey. I'm not sure that's the case with Chicago and Indiana. If that isn't the case, the team may very well switch their first name. We shall see.
The thought of the Indiana Bears makes me cringe
I used to live on the South Side Chicago...and if you guys are going to visit the Bears when they're playing in Hammond; lemme know...
Hammond was a 10-15 minute drive for me...
Trust me...I Know The Hot Spot's in that Hood...
Um...Make sure that you have extra Bond Cash...
You don't want to get Locked Up in Lake County...
I sure hope this does not happen. it would be sad to have the bears not playing in soldier field...
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
One thing I will miss...

Although the Gary Bears has a nice ring to it. But maybe sounds too much like "Care Bears"?
My Gary Bears T-Shirt is Slightly Deteriorated...
On the back of the shirt shows:
Hey McCaskey
The Middle Finger
Gary This
I know...I know...Where's the Flannel ???
That's on me now...
My 520 & 6072 boxes are making it all Legit & Legal...
only the colts would probably vote against it.
I am with @craig44 on this, I hope it doesn’t happen and see moving the Bears as a bad thing for the NFL.

i like GroceryRackPack Tudor Grizzlies myself
Care Bears?
I would be far more concerned about those that will no longer care about the Bears.
Calling this move a Stupid Idea is merely a gross understatement as there are simply no words to express and define such a bonehead decision.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
The Chicago Bears are an iconic name in all US sports, this would be much bigger than the Dodgers moving to LA and the Colts moving to Indy combined
The question of the day on this topic is...
What would George Halas say ???
I know what he would say on the move; though I can't really type it here what Papa Bear would actually say...I don't want to be Incarcerated here on the Forum; unless there's a Trustee Position open...
I doubt theyll change their name. The Washington Commanders play in Maryland, Dallas plays in Arlington., San Fran plays in Santa Clara ect

Leaving Solider Field is a done deal. The only question is where are they going. They were planning on going to Arlington Heights but that fell through when they refused to commit to building up the infrastructure and real estate around it

Honestly I think people are too hung up on the fact that it crosses state lines. Its really not far from Chicago at all, The 49ers are further from San Fran than the Bears would be from Chicago. Plus with the stupid open day being in Australia and all the international games now not everyone gets a full slate of home games anyways

did some Outstanding Research over on the Tudor Forum 🤓💻 🔌🏈....

Basebal21 is correct. Of the 32 teams, 9 don't play in their "city". Those that don't have home games in their city:
"Las Vegas" Raiders play in Paradise Nevada
"Dallas" Cowboys play in Arlington Texas
"Buffalo" Bills play in Orchard Park New York
"San Francisco" 49ers play in Santa Clara California
"New York" Giants play in East Rutherford New Jersey
"New York" Jets play in East Rutherford New Jersey
"Washington" Commanders play in Landover Maryland
"Los Angeles" Rams play in Inglewood California
"Los Angeles" Chargers play in Inglewood California
Hammond is in the Chicago metro area - I don't see what the big deal is
Also adding that the Dolphins play in Miami Gardens which is about 13 miles north of Miami. Whenever you watch a Dolphins game, they always show scenes from Miami Beach and the ritzy Miami areas when in reality the area they play in is VERY different from what you see on TV.
Thank You Al Davis.
--- I would add that the Cleveland Browns play in Baltimore. They also play in Inglewood since they started their life in Cleveland and won that city their first NFL Championship before they moved. Now the Browns, thanks to help from the State Legislature, are getting ready to move out of downtown Cleveland. I'm so disgusted with the Ownership and the Legislature that I hope they leave and never come back.
Just don't increase my tax bill, please.

Potential marketers would be rubbing their hands together if in fact there was a name change. Jerseys, helmets, hats etc. just think of the potential sales.
they could play on Neptune and they'd still be the Chicago Bears
there will be no name change
Maybe you check the fine print before you head to the polls next time around....
I think it would actually hurt them. Sure you do get new stuff to sell but you would also lose a lot of fans which is why teams generally dont change the name when they stay close. Chicago Bears is one of the stronger brand names that wouldnt make sense to chance for moving to the outskirts
