Swung by the LCS to rifle thru their Mercs and picked up 11.
I believe this is a 1921. It's thrashed, but I paid under melt so it's not like I'm losing much if I'm wrong
I found four 1931-S and a single 1931-D. Two of the S mints went back.
There were 7 1945-S micro S dimes and I bought them all. None are in particularly noteworthy condition.
EDIT: I found almost every coin in the series today. Of course the 16-D and 21-D were no where to be seen, but there wasn't a 1926-S either, plus the two overdates if you include those
Latest eBay purchase….$269…so $69 over PCGS price guide….not too terribly bad for an 801 numbered rattler. Too bad it didn’t have a white insert though….😉
Good question @Catbert Some people probably hope soon so they don't have to see more Doily's, CAC Rattlers and Gold CAC stickers. But...... some really cool things are on the way very soon (Hint, more of the same )
I have always wanted a Proof Walker but have not had luck finding one. Then this was offered and I took it (luckily the money had not run out yet). I may need to get this one photographed at Central States.

@pcgscacgold, and the hits keep on coming. Glad I don’t collect CAC rattlers as a main focus, as there wouldn’t be enough left after you’re done! Zack.
Picked up a Guatemalan Piece of 8 Spanish empire cob from 1738. It is most likely from a shipwreck. You can tell from the saltwater corrosion next to the date.
@Bob13 - how is that going to fit into your PCGS album? Love the blue halo and splashes of orange.
And for those of you who have missed Bob's "Box of 20" link at the bottom of his post, I dare you to look. Get ready for a splendid tour of colorful and interesting coins!

I usually just buy what I like, I don’t really necessarily go looking for anything specific, at least most of the time…
All three of these came from different sources, and they all just spoke to me, but it’s kind of cool, all three metals in the last two weeks from Australia…
Silver:
Why a “first? I’ve never owned a CBD with large dentils before, let alone a 3/2. This one’s a solid 58, with grey toning over a silver frost in the protected areas. Nice silky luster when rotated under the light. CAC has stickered only a handful of this JR-3, R-2 variety. Cool serial # too!

Saw this on Great Collections early in the week and put it on watch list. It’s right up my alley and I didn’t yet have a coin of this type.
Yesterday after a very long day I closed up my business and got in my truck. Saw that this coin was $220 with about 2 hours left. Bid $377……or so I thought.
Then I got home and checked about 10 minutes before close. Then had to do a double take……then a triple take. Somehow, someway I had bid $37,700.
If the underbidder on this coin is out there…..Thank you for stopping at $469
Not my finest hour as a user of my phone or the internet in general. (Never bid and drive, folks.). Still happy to win it and expand my type set beyond the 7070 requirements.
The last of the set of 5 CAC Doily Commems I picked up recently. Not the usual look I go for but really wanted to keep the set together. I was very lucky to have the 5 offered to me.

I'm guilty of backsliding, to the bad behavior of upgrading....
I decided last year that the time was right to complete my SLQ set, by finally buying a 1916. The one I bought was so excellent (CACG AU55) that I now feel that having semi-key dates in low VF grades (1919-D; 1919-S; 1921 and 1927-S in my case) is no longer appropriate. I won't be going overboard with high-AU or MS grades, but I will upgrade.
The TV isn't very good, its overexposed. The front is a nice pretty even brown. The back is a little splotchy, but...you take what you can get with these.

One of my favorite reverses of all the silver commems.

$6 eBay buy. A lot of luster left including a bit of red trapped in between letter

Another eBay coin. I watched this coin for for a while and received an offer for a couple bucks off

Is it bullion? Is it numismatic? I'm not sure, but I like it!

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
