Let's say you love toning.
What color really sparks your attention?
Also what color is an immediate turn off?
Please share any examples that have really lit you up or down.

    For silver coins I like the Doug Kurz 'Sunnywood' color progression with 4 or more '2nd & 3rd cycle' colors, vivid but not too dark. Having the underlying luster blaze through the toning is the ultimate.

    Too me, not many coins out there show only one color of HUE.

    I like deep original toning on original surfaces in many forms…..

    UNC 20th century album toned silver

    19th.century lightly circulated Silver

    18th century circulated silver

    Thanks emeraldATV, I’m a fan of that kind of toning on copper tokens. I picked them based on first impression eye appeal and I like how they don’t have splotchiness or terminal toning like you can get with the outer edges of rainbow target toning on copper. And Unlike regular coins you can find these tokens toned like that without having much of a toning premium if any at all. About half are raw, half slabbed by PCGS or NGC. And yes, whenever I purchased a new one, I was keeping in mind how they would look in group shots with each other so I could do stuff like this

    But For even bigger copper coins, I especially like them if they tone like this

    My favorite color on a Morgan dollar, or any coin for that matter, is emerald green. The more emerald green the better, as far as I'm concerned. And here is one with more: Formerly ICG66, crossed at the same grade to PCGS.

    Russet, red, green but the color also has to make sense for the issue and match other coins stored similarly...a naturally toned red and blue Connecticut or Bridgeport just would not make any sense
