PMD...at the mint??

My best guess is this may have gotten jammed up in a counter/sorter while being bagged at the mint but could have been after. Any way to tell?

The damage on the reverse looks like another coin was pressed into the rim, the denticles even transferred.

Probably was at the bottom of a mint bank bag. Those treasury photos showing hundreds of silver dollar bags.... the coins at the bottom were crushed!

Looks like aa contact mark where the rim came into contact with the rim of another coin.

Storage/shipment damage, quite common. Think of it this way, 1000 coin bags (Approximately 59 pounds) thrown on top of each other repeatedly. Now think of the ones on the bottom.

Thanks for all the comments and opinions!
Those were my first thoughts as well but then the "slide" mark on the one side of the coin had me thrown off and all I could think of was a going going thru a counter.
I purchased over the counter for melt but it really is a beautiful coin... minus the rim damage. Honestly I would have expected heavier bag marks or hits to the fields being a bag bottom coin.

The amount of them is incredible.
