Trying to get rolls of the new dimes and stumbled into something truly rare - a silver dime ender

KurisuKurisu Posts: 2,166 ✭✭✭✭✭

I've got a few banks getting me newly packaged boxes of dimes, but still haven't gotten any of the new design yet.
Yesterday picked up a box a local Chase ordered for me...the date stamped on the box looked promising...but nope.
Instead it was a different surprise.

In 40ish years I don't think I've ever gotten a vendor dime roll with a silver ender before.
Still going through plenty of all denominations of boxes every year and I'd say I average only an honest one silver dime per year.
Not so pretty, but it was right in the middle and genuinely fun to see!

Haven’t got a silver dime in about 5 years and that was a coin star find

Thanks! And it's actually getting ridiculous lol.
Opened that last box (until my orders come in) and there were 5 more silvers!!
    Plus a couple of oddballs.

Considering that even lowly tiny little silver dimes have about $5 of silver right now...I should clearly be doing WAY more boxes of dimes in the Denver area at the moment!

Some ignorant person musta spent them recently and you are reaping the reward of that ignorance. Good for you!

Einstein’s view of God was non-traditional and pantheistic, focusing on the harmony, order, and intelligibility of the cosmos rather than a personal deity. His quotes reveal a profound respect for the universe’s mysteries, a belief in rational laws, and a moral philosophy grounded in compassion and understanding, bridging science and spirituality.

“My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.”

It sounds like finding silver dimes isn’t actually “truly rare”, after all. And that’s good for you.

I still wonder why some people have nothing better to do than cut away at a 1991-D dime with a wire cutter, I've seen so many modern clad coins with that damage.

Seeing the old reverse mintmarks on the silver dimes makes me yearn for that style in the modern era. I don't like modern coins placing mintmarks in such obvious spots any more.

Very nice find. Incredibly rare. My most statistically unlikely finds include a Buffalo 5¢ ender, double buffalos in a single Loomis roll, a scattered handful of Liberty 5¢, a 1976-S 40% quarter, and a few others.

So I finally ran into my first Emerging Liberty dimes, no full rolls or astounding condition for grading, but they've showed up!
What's absolutely amazing is that the silver dimes keep coming.

Box #5 of the recently ordered ones and it had both 4 silvers and 4 of my first new 2026 dimes!!
