!922-P Peace Dollar

Trying to figure out what this Peace Dollar actually is. Definitely not a high relief proof, however the obverse shows very sharp details. It may be a variant and I don't think it's a standard strike. Never seen a strike this detailed in Peace Dollars, haven't really seen many Peace dollars but usually they're kind of bland. It will be going to be authenticated and graded soon. Want to get an idea before submitting it.

This looks like a fairly standard 1922 circulated peace dollar with questionable toning. Pictures aren’t good enough to hazard a guess on whether it’s been cleaned.

1922 Philadelphia examples can be found in high mint states in slabs for cheap. I’d suggest not spending any more money on this one and finding a really attractive slabbed example off of eBay if you want a nice example.

those parallel lines in th reflections on the front are from a cleaning

value- retail maybe 58 but you won't find a dealer offering that nowadays

all of this is less than the cost to grade it

Standard 1922 Peace Dollar. Don't spend the money grading it, use that money to buy one that's already graded, then you'll have two.

Although well struck, the coin has circulated and been cleaned. It certainly isn’t worth getting graded.

As several people have already said, you pictures show an absolutely normal peace dollar with absolutely normal details that are no sharper than any other example in this condition.

If you don't like those answers, could you post side-by-side pictures showing this coin next to another coin that does not have similar details?

The trick you are seeing is that peace dollars when they get some toning esp 3d (high points lighter) show their relief more vividly. When they are monochromatic shiny silver it isn’t as pronounced

I see a world of pain for you if you submit for certification.
