VIDEO FROM LAST EVENING CAPTURES A RING OF FIRE AS JOHNNY CASH SINGS "RING OF FIRE"
Captain Cook explored the waters of Alaska at time concurrent with the American Revolution. On his ship was a your seaman named Captain George Vancouver. Close to two decades later that young seaman captained his own ship as he led the Vancouver Expedition from 1791 to 1795.
The expedition charted the coastline from Oregon to Alaska. His expedition was responsible for naming Mount Ranier, Mount Baker, Vancouver, and Whitbey Island. Expedition member Lt. Joseph Whitbey, for whom Whitbey Island was named, was himself responsible for naming Point Woronzof located today in the Municipality of Anchorage. He named it after the then serving Russian Ambassador to Great Britain, Count Simon Romanovitch Woronzof who was very popular among the British.
In the below linked video you will first see the aforementioned Captain Cook's image as he overlooks Cook Inlet named after him. You will then see a "Ring of Fire" Sunset as it spans from the Captain to the aforementioned Point Woronzof where the fire red sunset is reflected in the waters fronting the Point.

In January 1944, Boyington, outnumbered by Japanese "Zero" planes, was shot down into the Pacific Ocean after downing one of the enemy planes. He was captured by a Japanese submarine crew and was held as a prisoner of war for more than a year and a half. He was released shortly after the surrender of Japan.
