1808/7 50C O-101 Prime Die State - Any info on value and rarity?

If my attribution is correct, this looks like an O-101 without the commonly seen die cracks. I have read that these are fairy scarce. Does anyone have information on it or a general idea of value?
Thank you!

It’s hard to tell without a loupe but is there a fine crack above TES on the reverse? Looks like it may be the beginnings of that die state, which is 101.2. Could be an unrelated scuff/scratch.

That crack is the next progression from the “prime” die state so if that’s not there in any form it’s a 101.1.

Tough to determine what it would be worth.

  • @Pnies20 I just check with a 16x loupe. I can see the very faintest beginnings of a die crack there. Thank you very much for pointing that out! I appreciate the help.

Still very very early die state and a die state collector will surely snap it up. I don’t recall any sales for them, unfortunately.

I agree with @Pnies20 above, there aren't that many sales to confirm premium pricing. Without the popularity and demand for this specific die state, I would not expect any notable premiums at auction. It is popularity and historical auction results that drive the prices that we see today for die states.

On a side note, I've been looking for an XF-AU early die state for my set. The crispness of the first strike is far more attractive than the smush and cracked up LDS examples that all look the same. Just my opinion!
