I haven't seen any on sale on fixed price lists for several weeks. While some Gems don't appear in these sets the ones that do are seen in some quantity. This leads to destruction to remove Gems. Also some collectors buy the sets with the specific intent of adding the coins to collections. The vast majority of coins in these sets will be chBU so they are a handy source of coins. A few have been lost through entropy.

In the '80's I sometimes saw the mint tokens for sale individually.

I wouldn't be surprised if half of the small mintages are gone.

The last I saw the better ones were going for upward of $75. Try eBay.

There are several for sale on eBay and many results of completed sale.

I used to see stacks up toi about "35". I can hardly imagine how they could be accumulated like this. In the '80's I saw a stack like this of the '82-P and wanted to buy them all since they were nice crisp sets and the coins were almost all nice chBU. The owner wouldn't budge from $4 each so I just picked out a few of the best.

A lot of the coins in these sets are better than what you get if you just order "chBU" from a retailer. Unattractive coins are far more likely to be shipped with these dates because they are hard to find and nobody is going to spend MS-60's because they aren't nice enough. I have to believe this leads to more than a few of these sets being cut up in frustration.

Perhaps this set premium that has been developing the last few years is indicative of the number of intact mint set collectors. It looks like only a few thousand. I imagine there would be more if the '68-'71 sets weren't so unstable.
