Are premiums on Proof Silver Eagles gone?

I seem to remember proof Sliver Eagles selling around $90 in OGP, at least last time I bought one... now that silver is over $90 is there still any premium on these? Did a quick search and it looks like little to no premium. If selling, do they essentially get lumped in with the uncirculated ones?

    The value of ASEs is tied primarily now to spot price. I'd assume there is a small premium for proof ASEs with OGP but with silver as high as it is now, the numismatic premium has been overtaken by the precious metal value premium.

    Look at sold ebay listings - there is still premium there - although post fees not really.

    LCS offered me the same $10 back of spot for a boxed proof a week ago.

    I've probably been in 25-30 different shops the past few months during this current runup. Haven't found a single shop that was paying a premium for any proof/burnished/slabbed MS70/Complete Dansco set ASEs etc. They are all being treated the same. I have run across a couple of shops that offered +41 over spot for sealed monster boxes but everything ASE and I mean everything else has been spot or less, sometimes way less depending on shop/current market.

    I know you specifically asked about gutter eagles but I had a conversation with a dealer yesterday that said his wholesaler was currently offering less for proof gold eagles than they were for regular bullion gold eagles. Try to figure that one out. RGDS!

    I just sold a stack of 86-93 proofs in the OGP for $87 each to a friend of mine, when silver was around $90. Too cheap, but no shipping, and he’s bought a lot of lesser stuff.

    It’s sad. I think the older proof DCAM coins are some of the prettiest moderns (the ones before the dies were lasered to create a rough, scale like frosting on the devices).

    I was hesitant to order 1/2 ounce 24k Saq Dollar last year due to current proof finish.
    I did buy one, but as you say it has "a rough scale like frosting on devices."
    Laser die etching erases all delicate and fine details. The more you magnify the less you see.

    Has lasered dies production been going on since 2014 ? Or before ? When did it start ?

    Buying Uncirculated Mint products is only way to preserve these fine die details.
    I figure if that's all the US Mint proof production offers then it is what it is, but I do not like it.

    Knowing all this I still added the 2025 24k Saq, which was acquired for $300 under today's spot.

    Yes that is true an astute observation and I think those may sell for more down the road.
