Congrats to the Bills, now they just need to dump their GM

The local press is reporting there was a power struggle between McDermott and Bean. Pegula sided with Bean and even promoted him to an additional position.

There was talk before the season started that this was a do or die year for McDermott and Allen. Of course the coach goes first. McDermott had a sword of Damocles hanging over his head all year from the preseason talk.
New stadium, new coach. Will the results be the same?

Allens not going anywhere. He signed a 330 million extension with 250 million guranteed last year. Plus hes an elite QB. Firing the coach is what a GM does as a first step to extend their job like when a coach fires a coordinator.

The GM is right there with McDermott for the blame

If I'm the owner I'm dumping him

You got generational. talent with Allen and most NFL fans can't even name a secondary WR on that team

    It's a waste

Going forward the Bills should find a way to stop having Josh do all the bull work. He takes and has taken a lot of pounding in his career. Has to catch up with him, all that cumulative damage.

josh needs some of the pressure taken off, mainly in the running game. his body has taken an absolute beating. he is in the same boat as Mahomes, too much scrambling/extending plays. I love Josh, but if he wants to be an elite QB into his late 30's, he has to learn to stay in the pocket. it is only a matter of time before he gets a knee blown up or another major injury.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Pegula isn't dumping GM Beane. He just made him director of Football Operations in addition to GM. Beane is Terry Pegula's man. McDermott was Kim Pegula's man. Kim is no longer involved with the Bills/

But wouldn't you agree that the history here warrants a complete house cleaning?

Personally I'm a Pats guy and couldn't care less other than it baffles me as to why they haven't addressed the WR situation over there since Diggs was let go.

The Patriots were a disaster after Brady left and it took them less than 5 years to figure it out, here we are with Josh Allen turning 30 before next season and it's another exit from the playoffs

Report: Sean McDermott Criticized Brandon Beane Over Roster, BUF Bills Players Unhappy with Firing - Yahoo Sports https://share.google/txOmUBgF09VaUYejr

Apparently McDermott told the GM. and owner what the roster lacked to reach the super bowl and it didn't go over well

lol the GM and Owner look to be the biggest problem

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 9,853 ✭✭✭✭✭

    heard this today

since Josh Allen, the Bills have drafted 56 players

    2 have been pro bowlers

that's a GM who needs to be wadded up in a ball and tossed into the trash 🗑

Buffalo gave theirs a promotion and canned the coach :D

do we need to start sticking the Bills into the worst-run organizations discussion ?

  • MaywoodMaywood Posts: 3,915 ✭✭✭✭✭

As a “go between” with ownership and the Head Coach the GM is generally the problem but makes the decisions. When he fails he fires the Coach.

Perhaps the head honchos have been too focused on their new stadium, and not focused enough on the team that will be playing in it.

  • BLUEJAYWAYBLUEJAYWAY Posts: 11,318 ✭✭✭✭✭

Even if Sean won in Denver his next loss in the playoffs he would of been canned anyway. Bills management was in the all,SB, or nothing mode.

Bills got the Governor and New York State taxpayers to fork over $850 million towards the new stadium. The highest ever amount of tax payers money to fund an NFL stadium. $600 million from state,$250 million from local county.

Total cost $2.1 Billion and increasing. Pegula is responsible for everything over $850 million. Original cost $1.5 Billion.

Think what he means is he needs WR's to get open to save him from having to run

Theres some WRs that will still be there that would be a big help when they get their picks in the first and second round, whether or not they pick one is a different story

I was not clear. I meant the seemingly constant scrambling because of pressure and WR not getting open/seperation. Also, they call a ton of sneaks/tush push plays in short yardage that are going to have a cumulative impact on Allen. He is the all time leader for QB rushing TD's.

Allen may only be 29 years old, but his body probably feels a lot older than that.

It's an interesting story, we would be doing the same thing if it was Mahomes instead of Allen

That's what is talked about when the top QB in the NFL gets knocked out of the playoffs every year lol

History. A legacy of heartbreak and failure in a place plagued by isolation and miserable weather. Someday, their magic moment will happen. We might not be alive to see it.

The owner and the GM being like but we were being team players is just flat out pathetic. Youre the owner you can draft who every you want. They might as well just trade him at this point after that

The Bills interviewed Philip Rivers for the head coaching job. As far as I know his only head coaching experience is at the High School level. If they hire him, Bills Mafia will go crazy.

They also are supposed to be interviewing Mike McDaniels. Can you imagine what will happen in Buffalo if he’s hired??
