After many requests,(well actually just 2😀) the buying and selling and all stuff numismatic related will be discussed right here so stay tuned for the reports!
Dealer set up!
Now I have mentioned before that this show is my FUN show so it was with great excitement I woke up a hour early. Not that bad just I will arrive early. Here is a picture leaving my house.
In 2 hours arrival at the casino. A very nice facility to hold a coin show at.

I am very fortunate to have developed a relationship with Wes and Sydney of Americana rare coins in Sacramento. They invited me up to their room before the show and they went thru my inventory. They bought about 20% of my stock😀. Quality people and very fair , Impressive how they have built their business up and being younger than 30 years old Amazing.
After that it was setup and I raced into the ballroom and the AZ Davy team quickly in record time setup. ( this statement is a lie 😀 other dealers boast about their lighting quick setup skills I say impossible, after a hour plus the team “me” had every thing set up.
At this point being flush with cash I searched for a few newps. Got a few.
Of the new coins I got about 5 not shown in the picture were sold in 30 minutes. That was a quick turn on inventory. One medal coin that I picked up and always had wanted was this cool Bryan Dollar.
The only one of this type graded at Pcgs and quite a high grade for this soft metal

At this point I was exhausted and grabbed a little snack with my good friends and what road report would not be complete with out a picture of Rick Snow and his son Kenny eating😀😀
Tomorrow opening day where I hope to buy , sell and eat fine snacks. And it will all be reported right here.
Writing these reports that other people do is quite exhausting. I was truly beat after an amazing Friday show. The Coin Geek Ben has quite a following, the first 4 hours of the show was a blur with the table having multiple collectors wanting to look , a question , how much off if I buy these 3 and and so on. Absolutely wonderful 😀. I asked everyone who bought from me who was not an Arizona person that I knew where they are from and what brought them here. I had a San Francisco collector, 3 San Diego collectors 2 Nevada , 1 New Mexico and 2 Colorado collectors. They all said Ben’s you tube presence and they came for his show. They also said they came with their wife’s on a mini vacation, stayed at the resort casino and went sightseeing the days before and after the show, Desert Museum , Tombstone, and one gentleman said to do a little golf. Very cool to see out of state collectors coming in to our state.
So to conclude this report I will list my top ten observations of this show.
1. Personally sold j over 38% of my inventory that was a huge wow! Sold 59 coins and only bought 28 coins . Very hard to buy.
2. No one ever talks about the quality and quantity of bathroom facilities at these shows but I feel it is a very important feature for the average male over 60 collector. Which probably is 73.4% of all coin show attendees. This show has to be top notch in this category. The bathrooms were exactly 108 steps away from my table as I was in the first row at the entrance. And look at the size of the room😀👍
Security was everywhere as this is a casino and there were cameras in the ballroom.
Security outside the loading zone to enter the ballroom.
I just don’t get it we always see the Penny Lady reports with Rick Snow and his son Kenny eating at all of these fancy restaurants. It must be staged as I only saw them dining at the table eating some very fine cuisine.

What a promotion Ben had for the first people coming in the door. On Friday he had 58 Sample slabs from CACG that contained a foreign silver coin 1/10 th of an ounce. Being at the front by the entrance door I tried to buy one or two and offered 40.00 For it . No one took me up on it😞
The second day they had an even better promotion. Ben had a complete set of circulated Mercury dimes ( yes a complete set including the 16 d) he added a few more Mercury dimes to make an even 100 sample slabs from ANACS for the show. There was quite the line waiting to come in as the odds to get a 500.00 plus coin were 1 out of a 100 chance. And the 5.00 entry fee was donated to a local family going thru some challenging times with the health of their daughter. So the show attendees could not lose as they got a nifty sample slab that the melt value of the dime was more than the price of admission . And for 2 people a grandfather and his grand son took the offer from some crazy dealer who wanted a sample slab 😀🎉.
The guy who got the 16 d was just the right person to get it . He was thrilled and his smile filled the room. What a promotion!!
Ben passing out the slabs as attendees came in.
The line curving around past the entrance point.

A great venue ,great organization ,a great show , great fun and I definitely will be there next year. I hope more people come to enjoy the state and the coins.
- I don’t understand why do road reports always have 10 things? I do not even get to talk about Cesar salad 😀
- Love the grab bag each dealer had with their table and 2 bottle waters.

9.I arrived home to my dog , wait for it … named penny, the name she had when we adopted her.

Now this looks like a show you will only find in the desert....is that Rick Snow really?
And his son, Kenny?
This is too much.....hope they don't eat all the snacks!
The Bryan Dollar is surely a winner.
I'll be waiting with bated breath for your next report.
Get some rest, you'll need it.
Thanks for posting this.
Yes it is rick snow and his son Kenny
Coool
I forgot this picture. Consumed the whole bottle.😀

But I personally prefer the Dasani vintage
The conclusion posted .
Those were great giveaways at the entranceway.
I got the same drinking problem 🤥
Sounds like another great show! Wish I could have made it.
Homecoming went off without a hitch and my daughter made it home safe.
Here’s hoping I get to come and bring my son next year!
I have a whole case of that same vintage, and drank a bottle at the FUN show!
Seriously though, great report, sounds like a fantastic show with those generous giveaways.
Super report! Looks like a great venue, great giveaways and great bathrooms. I really wish that I could have made the show but at 75 that is a long way for me. Thanks for posting.
Great report. I was impressed how closely you followed the tried and true Penny Lady report format- I kept thinking I was reading one of her reports !
Nice report, thanks for sharing. Makes me wish that I could have been there. I never saw if you mentioned how large the show was. How many dealers & tables?
Nice bathroom! Oh wait, there was a coin show too...
Hey Davy - so jealous being stuck here in Puerto Vallarta during Ben’s show. Was great meeting you and Ben two years ago at the inaugural show:
At least Ben hasn’t aged any….
Hope to see you both at the show next year.

Hi Tim yes it was a great time ! Hopefully see you next year. I believe you collect sample slabs and I have a few of the anacs Mercury dime Tucson show only 100 made. I would be happy to send you one if you pm me your mailing address 😀.
Davy
Ben was looking a little frazzled towards the end of the first day. I didn't make the second day but had to be in Phoenix for a birthday.
Check out the video at the 10 minute mark... That's what I sold Ben at the Tucson show 😯
His mustache has!
