This is a trick question and the answer is an MLB team, the Kansas City Royals. In 1979 the Royals drafted both John Elway and Dan Marino.

What I remember most about Elway is the way he sort of blackmailed Baltimore and then ended up in Denver.

Hal McRae coming in spikes high for leaving him off the list.

Also in the same 1979 MLB draft ...

... the Toronto Blue Jays drafted catcher Jay Schroeder in the 1st round as the 3rd overall pick

... the Los Angeles Dodgers drafted Orel Hershiser in the 17th round as the 440th

... the New York Yankees drafted Don Mattingly in the 19th round as the 493rd overall pick

... the Philadelphia Phillies drafted Curt Warner in the 32nd round as the 784th overall pick

    A Denver Bronco number 2?
Sorry, but no thanks. My list…

    1. Bubba Starling, his career was marked by pure greatness punctuated by tremendous moments of extreme superiority over the competition. GOAT royal and not even debatable. Incidentally, these cards can be yours for the low price of $25k, a bargain basement price for a legend of the genre.
    2. Dan Marino

    3. Bob Pink Floyd

    4. Charles Martin Smith… who went on to play the accountant in the untouchables

    5. His name is Ken, not George
    6. You were correct having Buddy on the list, here are his stats from 1982

I’ve actually got Stephen Root ahead of Bo. Sure Bo was a double threat but Root went one better….
MLB pitcher, legendary actor, and at one time had a world ranking of #4 in international dodgeball.
