I'm separating the wheat from the chaff , the zinc from the bronze, and I'm gonna melt the latter into cool art pieces.

I may have a peek to make sure no 1972 DDOs fall in the melting pot though ;)

It's all about what the people want...

I plan to make book on how many replies are posted before one of the more pedantic forumites chimes in with "you mustn't call them pennies, they're cents". I figure the over/under is about 15.

$60.50 rolled up and taken to the bank. A true mishmash of stuff from the 40s to BU memorials with a few cull IHCs in there. Nope. Won’t miss any of it.

    No. Only the melt value.

I took $350 dollars in zinc Lincolns that had been searched and rerolled to my grocery store, as the manager told me she had a problem and could not get cents, so could not open the regular check out, only the self check out with credit/debit cards. She gave me cash and a 2% off shopping coupon. I have another 70 rolls to drop off when I shop on Saturday to keep them going.

What's wrong with quarters in the CoinStar?

CoinStar for everything, just dump it in. Thanks for the reminder.

I removed the dreck while separating by decade and mint. Kept the 1909-39's and the nicest later dates. Everything else was turned in at my local trading post.

There really aren't any. The only pennies I have around the house are the ones I recycle through my gumball machine.

Check for wheaties and some of the more major (Redbook price is at least $10 in VF-20 grade) errors and varieties. 1970S, Sm Dt (High 7) is a $50 coin. It's a mistake not to look for it. That's just one example.1969S DblDie Obv found? That's a five figure coin. PCGS price guide says about 100 known.

His quotes reveal a profound respect for the universe’s mysteries, a belief in rational laws, and a moral philosophy grounded in compassion and understanding, bridging science and spirituality.

Since you're not the OP, I assume your psychic? I find it very easy to use all denominations, I also don't carry any of them. So...

I have kept a tin of copper cents I’ve found in change or otherwise all these years. Pretty much any date from 1909 to 1982 are in there. I figure I’ll just keep doing that although I may have reached the end of it. It’ll probably sit there until the time comes that no one cares if I melt them down and sell as bullion or I pass on and someone else does it.

I have roughly 39#'s unsorted/searched cents in 2 containers. Certainly not going to roll them, so one day it will be coinstar. Oops another small 5# container.
