Such cool stuff turns up at FUN and even after 50+ years im still learning. Picked up this roll of half dollars WHICH ARE RESTRICTED TO FLORIDA LOL

If you are interested heard is a little info on the roll

Amazing I only owned the roll for 12 minutes before another dealer grabbed it…. Hopefully it will end up in a happy home. It’s strange weird items that get to me the most even after all these years and to the dozens of our community here who stopped bye oir Scarsdale Coin booth 403 to say hello May I indeed thank you…to all of the collector that I was able to add to their collections, trade stories, or at least give a piece of candy too May I again thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the privilege to be in a business and earn a living doing something that I love …. I have another weird item to share in another post but for now did you any of you guys pick up anything unique??? let me know ,

Jon

I'm not saying your roll is not what you suggest, but I do know that a coin marketing company had some gimmick where they sold coins labeled for certain states. It was of course just a marketing gimmick.

Your roll says "coinage issued by United States Mint", which of course all US coins are.

Also, the posted background just sounds odd to me. A mint program to prevent dealers from "scooping up" all the coins minted for circulation, and "promote state pride"? 🧐

The roll obviously contains circulated coins, so the mint would presumably not have been involved in it's distribution. As for state pride - cashiers and tellers would probably have been breaking open most of the rolls for the till, so why the concern about state pride?

    Maybe I'm just being cynical....

I have seen similar advertisements in regional publications. I like how they 'limit purchases to 5 per customer' so that none of the marks get screwed too bad.
