Tucson Coin and Currency Expo Show This Week January 16th and 17th

This is one of the best coin shows around and my favorite show in all of Arizona!
Any collector near Tucson or can fly in should attend. The airport is conveniently only 20 minutes from the show.

Saturday, January 17th from 9AM-5PM
This year's show has some unique and pretty exciting things if you show up early:
- The CACG sample slabs are for the first 50 people in line Friday. It's a 1/10 ounce silver Somali coin.
- The ANACS samples will be a random year mercury dime. Yes, an entire set was slabbed including the 16D and the 1921's. Those will be given out (randomized) to the first 75 (or so) people in line Saturday.
- Other activities at this show will include: raffles, scavenger hunts, and prizes for kids.
All of the money raised from the show will go directly to charity for the Campos Family who are raising money for childhood cancer. More information and the Campos' story can be found at: https://gofundme.com/f/campos-family-support

To all involved have a profitable and successful show.
Just curious, what does “Invitational” in the title mean?
Too far for me, but post show reports.
It’s Homecoming for my Daughter on Saturday so I’m not going to be able to make the drive over (3hrs for me, so can’t get there with work on Friday and games/festivities start early on Saturday).
Went last year (and met AZ Davy!) It’s a great show and I’m bummed to miss it.

Why is it called invitational ?? A good question and I can only speculate that Ben is selective on who is invited as dealers. I know he screens before accepting people.
I also heard that the invitational description might be dropped and replaced by Expo?

I will miss you. I remember you had the same type of events to go to on Saturday last year and you were concerned about the timing. I remember the lowball bust half I took on trade from you but forget what you bought???
Much like annual but by invitation... you're all invited though.
What's the consensus on dealers buying vintage silver bars and rounds?
Hey @AZDAVY I got a 1916 Barber Dime from you, as per the notes on my phone. I’m sure it helped out my collection or I wouldn’t have traded for it
I’ll have to go find it when I’m back with my coins.
And yes, it was Homecoming last year, too, but I was able to miss the games since my daughter wasn’t on the cheer squad at that time. Now she’s participating and I have to be there for everything (which I’m honored to do, just can’t be in two states at once).
I hope everyone has a great show and I’ll talk to my brother-in-law about making a better basketball schedule next year

@SurfinxHI thanks for the well wishes. I love this Tucson show as it was the real beginning of my thoughts of becoming a coin dealer. What is wonderful is I am still very excited to go to a show, just like a kid waiting for Christmas 😊

At most coins shows I attended I felt like being a kid with a pocket full of money at a candy store.
If you see something you like at the Tucson show, you can go out on the casino floor and strategically invest some money to get the coin for cheaper
What could go wrong with a plan like that
