    A real joke.

I've nothing but bad dealings with APMEX.
I don't consider them for any transaction.

"Delivered, In/At Mailbox "12/20/25. Ordered 11/10. Did not have very long, as it went to another forum member within 2 hrs. :)

I'm still showing Back Order. Is that the kiss of death for this, or if I do receive is it likely a retread?

  • NotSureNotSure Posts: 3,035 ✭✭✭

I've been watching this thread, and holy sh*t, I'm so surprised, most who ordered, well, all of us who ordered, got the orders in within what, an hour of the '12 noon bell' (not talking about the 7am releases that disappeared in a split second)? I KNOW mine was ordered 12:20pm, which pretty obviously tells me I wasn't first in line. Mine shipped on Dec 3rd. Damn the 'free shipping', I don't trust the USPS for items like this, or even junk mail for that matter, to be honest, and paid the $17.95 for 2nd Day shipping.....and 2nd Day shipping got mine delivered Dec 5th, in 2 days. I've definitely NOT been the first order placed for ANY of these 4 privy marked ASE's, and I've always seen my wait times jump higher, lower, even higher until I'm in, on all 4 orders. My orders have never gotten placed before 12:15pm (12:15 was my quickest, 12:28 the longest, and I worried about that 12:28 order)......yet, with choosing 2nd Day shipping, I've gotten them all 2 days after the first day they start shipping. I'm definitely not saying my choice of shipping has anything to do with it (but could it???), but I've never had to wait more than 2 days to receive mine from the first day they start shipping. I just hope all you with 'still processing', or whatever it shows, who 'stood in line' for as long, longer, and I'm pretty sure LESS time than I did, get yours.

    I'll come up with something.

Doesn't always matter what shipping you choose. I always go with the basic $5.95 shipping. Always get two to three days after shipped. Sometimes my orders are shipped the first day and sometimes a couple days later.

Well I can't say I'm surprised. PCGS is up to shennigans with the Marine Privy First Strike Deadline as I expected:
It's release date, ship date, deadline:

PCGS claims the ship date was Dec 18. My Marine privy shipped on Dec 2 and I had it in hand Dec 5. The deadline should have been Jan 2.

There's only a hundred thousand, correct?
Every one minted should be first issued or early release or first strike, My opinion.

Mine shipped early Dec also, but many, many didn't ship til mid to late Dec (backordered). I think they're giving those folks a break, as opposed to shenanigans, just me.

Remember, there was a big return to the Mint by the Big Boys over poor quality, and the current sales report reflects those returns at 93.3k sold so far. A 100k final mintage ain't happening here.

    Mine is nice -- for a 69....

Oh it's shenanigans. The back of the first strike label says, "Delivered within first 30 days of initial release." There are no exceptions or fine print for backorders or supplier issues. A policy is a policy. First Strike only means first strike if they adhere to the policy they created.

You are 100% correct. The only problem is the First Strike label is nothing but bull with no real value except what fools pay for it.

Is it shenanigans, or is it a submitter getting greedy with his FS Labels?

"The PCGS First Strike program designates coins issued in the first 30* days of the Mint's release. This designation not only adds value to modern coins, but takes modern coin collecting to another level with multiple Mint releases each year."

" *In rare cases, coins issued more than 30 days before submission can receive First Strike designation."

    Sincerely,

Nice. They did whatever they did due to the QC issues, and then held them to sell at $175 rather than releasing them at $105.

And, now the market is yawning at $175, since they aren't instantly disappearing with no HHL. Very classy.

So, now how many oh so special 1776-2026 Ws with a 250 privy mark do people want at $173, when there are going to be 500K of them? My answer is zero.

Granted that 60K<100K, but $175 is also more than $105. The fact that these aren't gone after 2 hours does call into question just how big a deal the Congratulations sets are going to be, even though I still think they will sell out quickly.

Thankfully I got all 4 last year for $105
