I'm gonna purchase the 2026 unc. coin set..... Thinking the unc. Lincoln @ 190,000 K might be worth sumpin down the road for my granddaughter ?

My guess is that the value will be in her knowing her grandparents were thinking of her.

The Enhanced Uncirculated 2017 Lincoln cent has a mintage of 200,000 and is worth $10 or less today. That whole set (200,000) can be bought for $25 or less.
If you want your granddaughter to have something "worth sumpin" down the road, put the money in a mutual fund. Even if the 2026 set holds its value or even appreciates (a rarity for Mint products), it will not keep up with the S&P 500.
Now, if you just want to give her an annual year set for fun, that's great.

Don't give coins as gifts unless the recipient is an experienced collector and you know their field of interest as well as they do.
She might benefit more from the same amount of money invested in Nvidia stock or an ETF index fund based on the S&P 500.
There's monetary value but there's more in giving her a keepsake to hold and think of you.

2026: Purchase random modern coins through the mint for a granddaughter.
2066: Granddaughter's child drops them off at a CoinStar.
I gave my son a 1945 mint set and two uncirculated Morgan dollars. These are to be passed down. No big deal. Im trying to bring two new members to the community.
He has a retirement plan so these gifts may start him off collecting coins.
If he is selective and does his best to buy at the right price he should do well.
He's 27 years old.
Someday he will tell my grandson that gramps gave me these to give to you.
Maybe is 30 years or so he will have a nice collection.
He is a union worker and his local is 1887 and thats one of the Morgans I gave him.

How old is the prospective numismatist?
30+ years coin shop experience (ret.) Coins, bullion, currency, scrap & interesting folks. Loved every minute!
Once she’s old enough, take her to shows! That’s how I got into coins, tagging along with my dad and brother to the local coin show. It really planted the wonder of coins into my head, and I think that is what really draws people in. Plus you get to spend some quality time together.
Another good option is a proof set or something of the like for her birthday every year. Something that can’t be easily tampered with and “cleaned” with vinegar or baking soda.

How many of you folks took a chance as well ?
I got my wife’s sister interested in coin collecting about four years ago. (She’s in her mid 50’s so she started late and LOVES it!) She is from Spain but loves Morgan silver dollars and the history behind our coinage! She has been attending major shows in NY, TX, FL, and Europe and always sends me photos of her new coins. It’s never too late to start!
I got my stepson and stepdaughter into collecting several years ago. He is 29 and she is 30 now….and both have pretty nice starts….I would say my stepdaughter’s collection is valued around $15K and stepsons around $7500. My stepdaughter’s fiancé is also into collecting now too (he’s a robotics engineer) and loves to see my new purchases every time they come to visit. It’s nice to see their interest in our hobby, so all is not lost on this younger generation folks!
