Anybody want to save these cute little cordials/port/whiskey glasses from the smelter? I believe they are antique Hawkes. Marked sterling and 10 pwts (pennyweight). There are 20 pennyweight in one troy oz so these glasses are one half troy ounce of sterling silver. Melt value of about $144 for this lot of 5. Seems a shame to scrap these but I have no use for them. $150 shipped.

What is the % silver in each coin or the coin weight? Have you tried a dealer who accumulates sterling scrap to send to a refinery? There are a few guys on this forum who do that.
By my calculations, it ought to be fairly close to a viable price for a scrap guy.

According to the Krause World Coin Catalog, each coin weighs 11.2 grams with a purity of .625 fine, for a net pure silver content of 0.225 troy oz per coin. So 18.0 troy oz of net silver content in the lot. At $1,150, that represents $63.89 per troy ounce. Anybody traveling to Germany could do well with this lot since it would probably sell fairly well there ?
