Sleepers in the Bargain Bin

When I go to my LCS, most are looking for tougher date coins, but I like to cherrypick the better grade common dates. Here are a few of them I picked up recently. They are still out there if you are willing to spend a little time looking.

Surprised to find a monster in there too.

Those look like very nice Unc.s. I've found the o/cc that is hard to see but few better varieties.

Yeah, I've found a lot of varieties this way too. It'll be too time consuming for my LCS to try and look for these.

Yep! I was surprised he didn't list it online.

    Great finds above, really nice!

I did the same as you recently, well sort of. Last spring my aging mother had a stash of "junk" dollar rolls in her attic for nearly 50 years. She let me take them and store them for safe keeping.

A dozen rolls (the plastic ones) of mixed Morgan and Peace dollars purchased from a coin shop or dealer back in the day?

All common dates, a few worn CC's, but a mixed bag of conditions from VF to MS. There's a couple dozen decent coins that I set aside for future consideration. However I have not (yet) checked any of them for varieties.

Here's a couple of coins that I threw into an economy sub last summer.......Happy hunting!

With the high silver prices are LCS still stocking their bargain bin boxes or just sending to the refiners for cash. Haven't been to my guy in about 6 months.

Locally, yes, because so many people are selling. He knows ppl like me will come in and snatch them up quick so they don’t sit for long.

For context, he makes a new box about every 3-4 days.
