(PLEASE keep politics out of this) The administration changed the 2026 Quarter designs
The Black Abolition, Women’s Suffrage and Civil Rights quarters were replaced with the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War and the Gettysburg Address. See an article below.
The US Mint should have make the Semiquintennial quarters a two or three year project highlighting important moments/achievements in our history. Just to name a few . . .
The American Revolution
Declaration of Independence
Constitution of the United States of America
Louisiana Purchase
Civil War & 13th Amendment abolishing slavery.
Civil Rights Movement
Moon Landing in 1969

The designs were not "changed". Certain recommendations were simply not implemented.
Also, the partisan author of that article clearly has a political bias.

That says it all. Civil Rights, Slavery Abolition and Women’s Suffrage being eliminated as US Mint coinage designs. Subjects regarded as “ woke “.

I would have preferred they stuck with the 1775-1783 events exclusively, but I'm glad they ditched all the CCAC activist recommendations.
Here's a way to keep politics out of it: Just stick with the actual event being commemorated. If you want something else commemorated, then get congress to pass a bill to commemorate that instead of "interpreting" the actual event into something entirely different.

As new coin designs are overseen by the government, it's nearly impossible to leave politics out of it. IMO, the new designs move the messaging, the symbology, more towards the center. For instance, Frederick Douglas, nor a little girl attending school, were responsible for ending slavery or creation of the CIvil Rights Act. It was the will of The People, through their elected representatives, that accomplished it. The administration has nudged the social pendulum back in the other direction but rest assured, it will continue to swing.

We've had years of quarters honoring various things, including all of those subjects. 2026 is the 250th anniversary of the founding of the country and that is what should be commemorated.

However those design suggestions were rejected, I don't care. I'm just glad they were. Other than DQ, they have nothing to do with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

2026 is the 250th anniversary of the founding of the country and that is what should be commemorated.
That's still exactly one of the five quarter designs the Mint has now decided to do. Replacing the CCAC recommendations sounds pretty "activist" to me.
