Thanks for the summary of your trips. One thing I sporadically wonder is what it would take for them to offer user-customized pages. It seems the current process for mass-producing albums, presumably using tooling set up specifically for the pages, could be supplemented by a custom process using something like a Cricut machine and a web-based layout tool. Port layout would be restricted by pre-set slide placement. Not sure how printing info by the ports would work, since that looks like hot stamping, which probably isn't as easily automated. An album junkie with esoteric needs would probably not have a problem paying handsomely for a custom Dansco album. Probably not enough demand for it to be feasible, though.

I haven't seen it for the smaller denominations. That would be cool if Dansco would decide to do so.
There are others, like platinum and such. I'll locate what I have and post photos later on today.

I had a similar thought about automation. I asked the owners of they would consider automating some tasks, but they said they would never do it. It's not in their DNA. My sense is that they will stay with manual labor even if offered a way to automate.

I actually did submit my self-created 7070 update page; got a very quick reply from Mr. Bruce about it.
I inquired a few years ago about custom jobs, but never heard back. Would love to see an update for it...mostly with the Lincoln series of 2009 and the 2004-2005 Jeffersons. The Washington series need their own books, but it might be nice to include a single coin of each of the different batches (ATB, Womens...etc...).

The most flexibility would come from being able to use capsules in a 4x5 (or whatever fits) grid, with a place for a descriptive label.
That would require a simple setup to cut/punch standard-sized holes in the piece of cardboard. Which then gets faced with colored paper. You could make the holes a tiny bit larger and design a simple friction fit holder.

I know this is like mailing a letter 3 months late but a recent conversation on line reminded me to ask you something.
It has become much more popular to build what are called grade sets. Ie; AG-3 to Au-58. Or MS-60- MS70 etc.
Even the registry sets now offer the opportunity to build these types of sets.
I personally don't think many people would be interested in buiding actual sets of mint state coins but i would think offering a page that shows circulated wear progression might become wildly popular. james
Sadly, a week of heavy warm rain has melted most snow in the mountains and caused flooding in many western Washington rivers. Sumas has been hit worse than the 1991 flood. Hopefully Dansco has not been hit hard.

Yeah, Sumas is at high risk, so in an atmospheric river event like this, we could expect it to flood again.

This is just awful. When I visited, I noted that all their machinery was at the same elevation as the road. The owners showed me the water line on the wall from the 2021 flood.
As their operations take place in a converted grocery store, they use the former grocery aisle to store materials on shelves.
It wouldn't surprise me if some of their machines weigh more than a ton.
They told me that they were really worried the last flood would be the end of the company. I fear this may be the final blow 😰 . We'll have to wait and see.

I have seen some buildings saved with sand bags on all entryways. I am not sure if the old grocery store had many seepage points for high water. Brick buildings a century old are frequently rather tight.
Clearly flooded out again. Too bad. Not a Chinese hoax for them.

While floodwaters have started receding in some areas, many streets remain impassable, and residents have been warned not to return until conditions improve.
Cherry Street, specifically, was reported on Thursday as being under several feet of water. It is highly likely that the property at 315 Cherry Street is affected. "

We have been having an amazing amount of rainfall in western Washington for the last couple of weeks (a so-called "atmospheric river"), with record flooding up and down the state. I just heard back from the family that runs Dansco's operations that they were spared from the recent Sumas floods! In their words:
"An incredible and miraculous situation, we had water in the building, but not much. A day of mopping and we are back to work."
