If the mint includes a 2027 cent in the mint set, that may have more of an effect on the omega cents, but I would have to think the 1776-2026 cents will have some negative effect. May be hard to tell what effect these subsequent issues will have, as market values will probably fluctuate quite bit anyway.

Call me crazy…but if you stamp an Omega privy into a 2025 coin…THAT SHOULD END THE SERIES!

Like buying a KISS 'Final Tour' memorabilia 10+ years ago before the next few tours they did, lol.

Great question Capt. Also, this should affect the high prices on the 2025 Lincoln Proofs too, one would think.

Does it matter to the average collector? Not the 232 that shelled out a lot for the Omega stamp, but for the rest of us a continuing Lincoln cent (preferably in 95% copper) would be great in mint and proof sets. I hope the Omega buyers don't get hurt on them, but they cannot be the reason not to continue Lincolns in collector sets.

I would expect that with the cent being no longer, that the cent should be no longer. Not hanging by a thread with the mint dragging along a dead horse. But what I would expect to be common sense is not how the mint operates.

Yeah, it really hurt the results... you might want to look instead of speculating.

I'm glad to see the cent continuing to be produced for collectors. Make them in the original copper or bronze composition and include them in the annual proof sets and mint sets. Sell them by the roll to collectors and coin dealers at the cost of production plus a reasonable profit. No one gets hurt and almost everyone is happy.

Personally, I'll be happy to still see Honest Abe next year...plus those will likely be a comparative small mintage vs. most past proof and/or mint issues.
