ANACS issues? New info!
Sent a submission in late October 2025. No hurry but after thanksgiving order switched from processing to shipping, sat there a few days the page went blank and said system problems due to excessive submissions. Page returned to normal yesterday and order says back to processing. Anyone else having problems. I called them earlier in week and they told me they were having issues and were having to reanalyze every order and thats all I got. Couldn't tell me any different. 1st direct order with them.

I didn't know anyone sends anything to them anymore
I'm kinda surprised. It's been a while since I've had a submission with them but they have always been responsive with any issues or problems. I don't know what the issues are but if they're responding to phone calls and e-mails, it tells me they are trying to resolve it.

When ANACS is the only game in town, it's who you use.

When ANACS accepts collector coins for grading at about 20 shows a month, you should expect them to sometimes be overwhelmed with orders. Their economy grading has a current special of $14/modern coin when submitting ten or more coins. Over the years, I find them to be typically on the mark as far as grades go. I understand that they grade based on a collector
Traditional basis and not on current market trends. They are not Market Makers. Have a great Holiday Season.
From my conversation with them I was worried that what ever problem they had might cause them to have redo the submissions. Then when my submission switched from shipping back to processing it made me think it might be so. The girl sounded upset regarding the issue but was very courteous, just not willing to explain.
Not worried really about the time, just want my coins to be 1st. Lol

Why do you say it's the only game in town?

There are some coins or tokens the big two TPGs don't grade, but ANACS will.
I had some coins done by them a few years ago. They were great to work with and accepted special instructions/requests with no issues.
Here is one (I'll do a separate thread about them soon).
Oh, okay. Never mind. I get it now. Yes, I have a few DC's graded as well from ANACS.
The same way ICG is my only game in town for my counterfeits.

Yes ANACS is the only one at present that attributes the new found 2024 P DDR Kennedy half and hoping to be 1st. They hadn't had one submitted yet when I sent mine in. Whoo whoo 🤞

Whatever the problem was, my coins had to go back to grading and attributing and should be going to Photography on the 18th, so may get them back this year.

ANACS has established a place in the market. They seem to do a very good job with the things they specialize in and collectors like that. Less expensive coins and medals have a big market. Not everyone wants to spend four figure amounts on coin or medal items ... and ... they don't care about stickers. I'm sure their current problem will be quickly resolved and all will be well.
Attributions like that have to be shipped from Colorado to Ohio and back. The additional turnaround is highly dependent on how slammed they are for attributions at any given time.

This is pretty darned hilarious. At the recent GJCC show, the ANACS table was busy all day long and I even gave them a 30 coin submission myself. There are certain items that they are good for.
I spoke with the ANACS rep and I understand that they have two problems. (1) they source some part from China and are getting clobbered by supply-chain hiccups, and (2) they have very limited grading capacity for certain items that constrains how fast they can get coins processed.

I send coins to ANACS when I want a coin authenticated or it doesn't have a high value to warrant sending to PCGS. I can drop off the coins at the local coin show and have them returned at a later show. That way I don't pay any shipping charges either way.

I use PCGS, NGC, ANACS, and ICG. They're all good for something. I haven't yet used CAC and currently don't plan to because all the other four fit my needs. ICG is good for Encased Postage, Counterfeits, Hobo Nickels, Potty Coins, and Depression Era Wooden Money. None of the others do them. ANACS is good for lower priced items and many other things that PCGS & NGC won't do. One that comes to mind is Coin Club Medals.
Want to be sure i didn't leave an opinion of dissatisfaction with ANACS. While this is my first direct submission with them, I have used them many times thru other sources for nearly 20 years. Not at all complaining of the time, as with PCGS or NGC I would not even checked for 2 months, so 6 wks is not an issue. Thanks for all the replies and info.

I send to them often without problems. Contact Paul Defelice at paul.defelice@anacs.com. He is very responsive.
I submitted a few coins at the Oct. PAN show.
I called a week ago and was told they had system problems.
This is not going to help them in the future

For whatever reason Anacs and Icg are overwhelmed with submissions, my guess is that people are speculating in the challenging jobs economy. So they get their regulars and lots of others. They make sense for less money graded coins, but with the great melting reality with gold and silver so high the only thing that really matters is authentication and they all do good jobs with that. Receiving sure is a pita, no tape, only rubber bands and you have to have printed out the invoice or have handwriting like John Hancock or they'll call. Heck, I can read anyone's handwriting, maybe a feature of being good at problem solving.
I sent them some world coins back in oct, no word yet, it was economy. so not that worried about it
After going from Shipping back to grading and now back to Shipping. Their problems must not be fixed, because I was told the coins would be going to photography on the 18th. Hope they get their stuff fixed soon.

When I submit my items to ANACS, they have always offered to fill out the paperwork for me. Evidently, they are acutely aware of my handwriting incompetence.

ANACS called this morning and said my coins were being shipped today and I would receive an email stating so and with the Grades and Attributions. Yaaay! But no email as of yet. I keep checking my order # and it still just says In Shipping.

I used to send my coins to ANACS when the little white soap box holder was used. They WERE a GREAT grading service if you wanted them to grade a great coin.
In fact, they were so great that once (and only once), during the era of the fabulous small holders, I sent in a submission of NGC and PCGS (and I think one SEGS) crackouts. I wasn't looking for upgrades particularly - I just REALLY liked the small holders.
I remember very few particulars, but I do remember that a single semi-key PCGS coin (and I am sorry to say this) downgraded by a significant amount while everything else pretty much graded the same (or changed within a value spread where it mattered very little). (And to be fair, I recall at the very least one nice PCGS upgrade.)
The most expensive coin in the lot was an 1838 half-dollar in NGC MS-62 that ANACS graded the same. I still own it.

I hope someone at ANACS reads this post. My submission has been in shipping for 3 days now, with each end of the day promise of shipment and grade/attributions. While this has not occurred is not a problem to me, what does bother me is that while having been graded, photographed and attributed this was not made available to their customer on their website under the order #. The info blanks are there, just empty. Hard for me to come up with a reasonable excuse for that.
Hope they cure this issue for the next group of submitters.

Years ago I had an 1866 $20 gold piece that to my eyes anyway was impaired, looked like it had been torched. It came back from Anacs as AU58!
After waiting 2 months for my cac submissions, finally shipped out today!
KOYNGUY who posted earlier in this thread is J.P. Martin, so ANACS has seen at least part of it.

I have material from all TPG accepted by ebay. I just pick out nice coins.
As far as TPG politics left that ages ago.
What is your eBay handle?
I am sure a few of us here would love to see and purchase some of your choice coins you have for sale.
LOL, that's the best kept secret on this board.

Any updates on your order? I had a similar problem with an Icg order, called numerous times.
Even the second tier services are very busy now, they're probably having trouble finding qualified responsible help. My take is that a lot of new people are doing submissions trying to develop economic value over just buying and selling raw coins.
Yes, I finally got my grades and attribution. 21st 2025 P DDR-1 Kennedy Half Dollar graded(ANACS being the first grading conpany to grade these).

Curious to know where can I get the order# to check on a submission as required on the website.
I sent in ten coins during a special at the Seattle coin show [10/5/25] through the onsite rep [Bill Coburn] and the only information that I have received so far is that they charged my credit card [in late October]. On their website, I tried entering the seven-digit number that is at the top of the submission form, but got an error message and, so far, no return email.
I had planned on picking them up at the Boeing coin show in late January so I haven't been so concerned about the progress, but now I am beginning to have concern. I even provided all the FS#s for each coin to make it easier.
@TPring
Just login under your acct # and it should provide you with an order #.

Thanks for the quick reply. I do not have an account#, only a submission# on the form. When logged into ANACS under order status I see this standard/plate response...
and under order search I see this but my "submission form # gives me an error message...
How do I get an account#?
My order that was turned on at the PAN show in October and have been given NO information on this order.
Nothing not even they have received the order. Called again today at 4:00 PM eastern time. recording said they were closed!
They have answered everytime I called, which is several and been helpful, but still having an issue with my order that I will call back about once I have my return submission inhand. Always called early, though.

I called about my order from the PAN show in October and was told it looks like will be shipped out about the second week of January 2026. I think this will apply to a number of submitters.
Hopefully, this will be true for you.
